I feel like a lot of men who truly think they want a strong woman actually don't know how to handle it

Do men who date models and actresses truly think they want a "strong" woman, or is that just something they have to say to models and actresses these days?

If you want to be the lead in a relationship, you're only going to attract people willing to follow that lead. If instead you want a partner who leads, then you have to be willing to follow.

She realizes she's only attracted to men who take the lead, but she's unwilling to be the follower. This female struggle is a tale as old as time. You can even find it all the way back in Genesis of the Abrahamic religions.

Many (most?) women don't understand this internal dilemma they face. All I got from the article is that either she doesn't understand this and doesn't know quite how to say it or else she just can't bring herself to admit it because it would mean her dating pool is essentially zero.

Oh but men do know. She identified the first group - the ones willing to follow her lead - as being "emasculated" as she put it. They'll take a swing at her. She identified the 2nd group - the ones who want to lead - "they start to tear you down". These guys might take a swing at her. To her it feels like they're tearing her down though when in fact they're probably just seeing if she'll follow or not.

When you’ve dated a lot of very suitable men, with looks, charm, money, fame, etc. and STILL ask, “Where are all the good men?”, you should really be asking, “What’s wrong with me?”. Certainly everyone else is asking that.

I think what she wants is a man that is capable of leading and being the masculine but for some reason is perfectly happy to let her take the role when she feels like it and to take it back whenever she decides she is done. She doesn't want a person, she wants a prop so she can act out her masculine power fantasy yet hand back the masculine role whenever she fancies it so she is free to be feminine, or when shit gets real I'm guessing.

It would be like a man wanting a feminine woman and expecting the woman to suddenly become masculine and taking the lead whenever he decides he wants to be pretty, taken care of and adored. Then also for her to suddenly stop being masculine and start being pretty and passive when he's done. But she would also have to maintain the masculine and leadership from the backseat as at any time he might want to be the beautiful one again. It's nonsense.

You can have a masculine and feminine partner in any kind of relationship gay, lesbian, straight etc. Or you can have a balanced one where neither is overtly masculine or feminine. You can't have it both ways and you can't be both the masculine and feminine partner. If you want to be balanced you should find a balanced partner, if not you should look for your reciprocal. But you can't expect your reciprocal to suddenly switch roles every time you decide you want to. They can switch at certain times but it's a dance between two willing partners, not just a dancer and a prop.

She's venting that no masculine men want or are happy to be her prop that she can emasculate at any time she chooses, not surprising. And I'm guessing the more feminine "emasculated guys" as she calls them are willing to take the feminine role but literally CAN'T take the masculine role whenever she snaps her fingers as she won't let that happen, they would need to hand back the masculine whenever SHE chooses, which is paradoxical, in that she is still being the leader and the masculine.
