Do we mean that the same actions will carry the same penalties under law for both sexes? Or that law will eliminate all societal gender roles by force?

Is there even a way to do the former without doing the latter? Or is the latter one of our goals?

On the other hand, is it even possible to eliminate the pre-existing unequal societal gender roles by any means but unequal law?

Immediate edit: Forgot to mention any specifics of biology (taking for granted most here would know what I'm talking about, but may not be the case). Not feeling like I can sum it up myself right now. Check out this essay.

Edit 2: Thanks everyone who bothered: have an upvote! Personally, the only system I see equality of opportunity working in, is a classical liberal or lowercase libertarian system (assuming universal inherent equal unalienable rights), whether it be a monopolist or agorist. That way, society could have or not have gender roles as it evolved one way or the other, without legal interference prescribing or proscribing them.
