Men paying for dates was born out of an era where young men often worked but women didn’t and the women were likely to end up being stay at home house wives. That’s not the situation these days.

Now we advantage women in education with far more women going to college. Women not only work but are advantaged under affirmative action and women owned business advantages. Women just out of college out earn their male counterparts.

In the past men paying for dates may have been unequal, but at least it was consistent with gender roles of the time. Men paying for women when women are advantaged isn’t equal or consistent, it’s just gynocentric.

They can set the conditions as there is an oversupply on men wanting to date.

Any man who "opts out" will be harrased by De Santis/Matt Walsh into manning up and start dating, laughed at by society as an incel who just cant get laid, called a misogynist as women are wonderful etc.

A woman who opts out will be told you go girl, men are trash, dont worry we will order them to comply and start dating you.

So men are socially pressured into dating, women dont really care and can set the price as high as they feel like

In a fairer world, women were already exhausting.

Not in a bad way, I mean that in order to attract, marry, and keep a woman you wanted just as much as she, it was a lifelong fucking effort. It was goddamn exhausting for the both of you, and you were both happy to be done with it once crossing the finish line.

But the tiredness you speak of, it's just on men these days. And there is no finish line.

Spend your efforts elsewhere. If you're in America especially, save your time, money, and sanity for when you can go abroad and cross the finish line, actually, exhausted alongside a real woman in a real way.

Ain't nothing but trash here. Leave it in the bin. Don't bother, move along, and when you hear the trash talk, remember, it's coming from the fucking trash.

Women once had to filter us out.... were we willing to commit resources to them? After all, we'd have to build comfortable shelters for them, and provide all the food in return for their favours. This was applicable from the dawn of the human race, right to the 1950s.

Then, it changed.

Affirmative Action, EEO hiring practices, divorce law place women in charge of resources. Meanwhile, draconian 'sexual harassment' laws means we don't get no favours.

So.... 'I'll offer, but the guy's gotta pay' is sooooo 1955, ladies. You gotta get with the times, feel the zeitgeist which is coming your way. Time to open those designer purses.

You sometimes come across women openly say they only go on dates because they're bored that night or wanted something to eat.

Then blast the guy on the internet if he didn't pay or had "icks" for likes and engagement.

It was the equivalent of the bower birdie making a shiny blue flower nest 🪺 doing a song and dance so the snooty drab lady bird would hop through , go “Meep!” And if he was lucky and persistent hold still so he could do the business and get some eggs done .

With that out of the equation for non performance .. one is free to do something productive or amusing (for oneself) instead . Build your own nest if you can

Women are in demand on the dating market so they set all the rules. Basically anything that happens in dating and relationships is because women choose them to happen, when you apply for a boss and they say "you have to pay for your course to join this programme or we won't hire you" you can continue to look for other companies, but if a cartel is formed and all companies demand the same because it benefits them then you are either paying or unemployed.

I used to think that the double standard had to do with how the paradigm is shifting and that we're just unlucky to be living in that transition stage between traditional gender roles and feminism, but now that they are outearning us and still expecting us to pay, it just feels like blatant gynocentrism. We've gone from glorified slaves to literal second-class citizens...

If this were only happening in the US (it's not), I'd chalk it up to women needing money because they hold 2/3 of student debt and still make 80% of purchases (they're financially irresponsible IMO and don't really care about saving for retirement).

I'm a traditionalist, and normally think the man should pay.

But there are exceptions.

If it is decided beforehand, the lady can pay. If she wishes to cancel out any "debt", she can signal that by paying.

But the most important thing is honesty up front. If you ask a girl out, or accept a date, decide before you order who pays.
