Hmm... I wonder what happened because the stat backed by actual info has always been only 10-15% are women, depending on where they are talking about. That would be 1 in 10 or 1 in 6 and 1/2...

People, the real jewel here is that 3/4 of homeless people are not specifically female. Sure the focus is on women but now we get to criticize it for excluding the male and trans community.

I've never thought of that crew as denying the existence and importance of female victims. Could be those creating the image have the same idea.

Or could be they believe they will get more donations or other support including women.

More importantly, how many are children? I don't really care if an adult is homeless, it happens and they can get help. It's kids who are stuck. Kids shouldn't be homeless.

Putting aside the obvious fact that they are focusing only on one gender when the rest seems to be the most in trouble, it makes me wonder how the hell do homeless women deal with periods. That's kind of a messed up. Anyone here worked at a shelter or whatever that knows this?

It'd be a pertinent point if they were trying to remind people of an ignored minority but any stat I've seen suggests that women are disproportionately more likely to receive assistance while homeless.
