In any event I do not think men en masse are going to want to start their own families sans women as single dads voluntarily through reproductive technology.

99% of sex has nothing to do with actual conception of offspring.
They've been able to do human same sex reproduction for YEARS with woman's eggs.
Men have been shown to be less willing to be parents. They'd just subcontract the child rearing back to woman anyways in the forms of domestic workers.

Artifical eggs, artificial wombs, sexbots, legalized prostitution, and better forms of Male birth control would not destroy hypergamy, but would put a huge dent in it. I honestly see a future of men and women extremely divided, many of them choosing not to interact cross-sex because it's just not worth it anymore

Technology can combat hypergamy but not by allowing the breeding of children without women. The vast majority of men don't care about that shit.

Hypergamy will be combated with functioning, intelligent sex bots role out. When sex bots become standard, which they will, men won't even really be looking at women because the effort it takes to get sex from them will be astronomical in comparison to their perfect loverbot/maid when they get home that will stroke their ego and their cock in the exact, custom way that they want.

Women, who thrive on attention, will then start to go after even the bottom barrel of guys because their inflated price will finally settle down. The "pussy bubble" will burst. The price of pussy is extremely high right now simply because so many man are simping. Just like at social media. Once the average guy starts to spend his time with his bot instead of simping women's SMV will come back down to reasonable levels. Then they'll essentially be forced to chase after the average guy or be completely alone because the top "chads" are too busy drowning in top tier pussy because even top tier women will have to chase. Because the chads will also not want to work hard, BECAUSE they will also have bots.

TL: DR So yes, technology will combat hypergamy. The technology being the onset of passable, intelligent, sexbots. It won't destroy hypergamy completely. It will just make hypergamy extremely inefficient.

If more men wanted to raise children just for the pleasure of raising children, they'd be doing it already. There is a surplus of unwanted kids already made and floating around that would love to be adopted.

Something tells me making babies isn't the generally the reason men want to have sex with women.

Okay. Well the womb is still necessary, only the ovum seems to have lost its necessity. The uterus still matters, so women aren't obsolete or anything. Surrogacy will become more important.

I presume this could work for transwomen as well (their skin cells still have male chromosomes), and men who can't sire a kid. Would it work for infertile women? Could their skin cells be manipulated to remove half the DNA and thus allow for sperm to fertilize?

Interestingly, the sperm cell is still necessary but the egg cell isn't, so I don't see how this can make spermjacking easier (unless the woman wants to be genetically 'cucked' herself).

But would this destroy hypergamy or sexism? The uterus is still necessary and women still need to bear children, so women still hold a reproductive veto over any man's desire to reproduce.

Hypergamy is related to sexual attraction which, in our society, is often decoupled from reproduction. I don't see women's tastes in men changing just because two men can create genetic offspring with the woman's role being purely incubatory.

What I can see, however, is non-hot men teaming up to create children, and presuming there is a reasonably liquid market for surrogacy, completely bypassing women's sexual selection. I think this will probably result in a very hostile reaction from at least a very substantial cohort of women. They're essentially having their genetic role undermined.

I guess we can say there are "downsides" to this technology. Men will get uglier on average if "loser" men team up to reproduce. To the extent looks indicate health and immune system genetics, this is potentially bad (although vaccination should be able to make up for the shortfall). On the bright side, more men will have families.

That said, how will women respond? Surrogacy-shaming or laws preventing surrogacy maybe. Stop men being able to bypass sexual selection. Perhaps we'd have a situation where two tiers of men will emerge; those with two male genetic parents (subverters of sexual selection) vs. those with one parent of each sex (products of sexual selection). If the former are uglier than the latter, the social hierarchy may actually be reinforced and we may end up with woman-chosen-Eloi and woman-spurned-Morlocks or something along those lines. It would be like a Reverse Gattaca, where 'naturals' would be privileged above scientifically-aided reproducers. Presumably women born from two male parents (its sperm cells that determine the chromosomal sex of the embryo, so its possible) would have similar problems, but if men are less picky than women there may be more chance of the "produced through subversion" women climbing the ladder.

There may certainly be a drop in demand for adoption, which is sad for those whom are orphans.

I guess anything that makes it easier for people who want children to have children is ultimately a good thing. But I do wonder, if sexual selection is bypassed, would we eventually end up with a two-tier society where the extreme (relative to women) genetic variability of men is even more pronounced?

Anyway, I don't think it would liberate women from reproductive biology. They still are necessary for incubation, which is the more difficult part. It would deprive women control over sexual selection to some degree (unless they try to shame/regulate surrogacy). But I do wonder about the Reverse Gattaca Problem.

Current technology is actually enabling rampant hypergamy by extending women's options (Tinder, facebook, etc.). I think there will be atleast 200-300 years before anything like artificial wombs becomes feasible.

Destroy hypergamy and sexism? No, these arise from biology and real biological differences between men and women.

Would it free men? Yes, to some degree it would, if it became accessible. It would be another option. Men, of course, would still want sex, but they would not have to involve a woman (or another man) to reproduce. By this time, sex technology may also have advanced enough for men not to even need women when it came to sex either.

Would it free women? Yes, to some degree, as it could enable them to have children without having to carry them for nine months. However, it could also devalue women and make them more expendable, as they would no longer have a monopoly on a mechanism through which to reproduce. They would not even be needed at all for human beings to reproduce.

Ultimately, the whole process of reproduction could become a less personal enterprise.
