A thought I'd been pondering lately when reading endless threads about how women punish emotionally vulnerable men is that when I look back on a lot of dating experiences, relationships, and even friendships with men....their emotional mutedness or lack of vulnerability often extended into positive emotions like: joy, appreciation, fun, glee, amusement, entertainment, adventure, and excitement (or however you would describe your positive emotions).

Which is to say, it was very difficult to detect that they were having a good time or were glad to be there or a part of whatever was going on. Even simple pleasures like food or a beverage you almost couldn't detect if they were enjoying it.

And I mean this genuinely, I'm sure people here could dunk on me that it's because I suck so of course they were having an awful time. But really, do you think you're ever being quite guarded or muted about your positive emotions with the people around you, especially women? Hiding the good times or not really sharing in the goodness?

And if you are, is it because you think that would be punished too? Or has it been punished in the past?
