Commonly misrepresented statistics that show gender inequality

It's 5 commonly used statistics to show that women are disadvantaged that do not have any research to support them or are consistently misrepresented.

MYTH 1: Women are half the world’s population, working two-thirds of the world’s working hours, receiving 10% of the world’s income, owning less than 1% of the world’s property.

This one was essentially made up by a United Nation member without any actual research.

MYTH 2: Between 100,000 and 300,000 girls are pressed into sexual slavery each year in the United States.

The sociologists who made this claim later explained that is was the number of children at risk, not the actual number pressed into slavery. In reality they explained that it is closer to a few hundred with many being boys.

MYTH 3: In the United States, 22%–35% of women who visit hospital emergency rooms do so because of domestic violence.

This number is for all violent attacks on women, no matter who was the attacker, not just from domestic partners.

MYTH 4: One in five in college women will be sexually assaulted.

The study used for this statistic only included two universities and most researchers question it because it had a very high non response rate. This makes many believe that victims of sexual assault were more likely to respond, leading to the inflated number.

MYTH 5: Women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns—for doing the same work.

According to economists, the actual wage gap is almost non existent when you take into account things like occupation, experience, hours, education, etc.

MYTH 6: Men are the privileged sex

This one is pretty long so if you want to read about it, go ahead. I don't really care as much to discuss this one.

EDIT: In myth 6, the article talks about how this type of misinformation can be damaging to men as a whole. Also, I just wanted to say that the reason I made this is because I have blindly believed these statistics in the past despite never encountering any evidence IRL and was curious if there is any evidence that this article is incorrect.
