That's not how pregnancy works. But skipping out all this with a focus on Hypergamy-

Hypergamy in terms of genetics (Because now we use Hyper/Hypo gamy to mean more than the traditional meaning) is best illustrated, best chance of a child to grow up and pass on genes if they are genetically healthy. Hyper/Hypo gamy in terms of social status (Including resources) is best noted that eating goes a long way to keeping humans alive, resources * - rather than the prevalence of dick to woman ratio seems to matter the most. Island B would succumb to inbreeding. Also you seem to prescribe evolutionary pressure on the species level. That's not really how it works. Extreme polygamy is not advantageous for the individual females - let alone for the species except in extreme outlier cases like the one imagined. Polygamous societies tend to have a lower birthrate than monogamous.

Hypergamy is a fact. But not for that reason.

Women prefer to have both the alpha male and the beta male. The alpha male is supposed to impregnate her when she is ovulating, the beta male is supposed to care for her and her child. This is called a dualistic mating strategy. AF/BB.

Women actually desire masculine muscular men when they are in the fertile phase of their cycle, but then switch to ordinary men when they are not. Women also have concealed ovulation so that a beta male has no way of telling whether she is fertile or not and stays committed. Women are the only females with boobs present at all times instead of only when feeding.

In other words, cuckolding and cheating is part of the female nature.

Shit Post? I may understand what you try to express. Let me try to reformulate.

Male tendency for polygamy and Female tendency for hypergamy can be theorized thanks to evolutionary explanations. These behaviours are the result of the optimization of our reproductivity toward our core reproductive mechanic.

There's two main way in nature to make sure reproduction works:

The first method is to produce lot of offsprings in the hope that one may survive and produce a viable individual.
The second method is to produce one offspring and nurture it until it becomes a viable individual.

Men can apply both methods. When the survivability is high even with only one parent, polygamy may be the most efficient way for a man to increase his reproductibility.

Women can only apply the second method, to give all chances for this offspring to grow into a viable individual, she better choose the best partner she can. This can also include the fact that the partner possesses resources and is willing to share them to her/to the offspring.

This is a fact. Men by nature can produce offspring (or fulfill their role in producing offspring) faster than women can.

Furthermore I want to add another scenario. Imagine you had 50 men and 50 women on the island. They needed to produce 50 babies as soon as possible. You'd end up with 50 pregnant women soon enough, but if the women choose who impregnates them, you think it will be 50 men impregnating 50 women? Of course not, it will likely be 20-40 men impregnating those 50 women. All women, assuming they're fertile, are guaranteed to get pregnant, while the uglier and shorter men will get negatively selected out.

There are biological limitations on male fertility as well as female fertility. No, not just # of ejaculations, sperm quality goes down too. You see this in real life highly polygamous families, often there are more wives than children.
