I realize this is just a portion of the topic, but why are you gamer bashing so much?

It's not inherently childish to enjoy playing videogames (or boardgames or RPGs!), and there are plenty of couples who actually have fun staying in to play games together while laughing and joking about cheesy character lines or glitches and munching on a nice, homemade meal instead of needing to get all fancy after a long day of dealing with people. We aren't composed of "immature women" and "man-children" just because we like to share a hobby you don't personally find enjoyment in.

The majority of us are nerds with decent jobs, college degrees, homes or apartments of our own, some have kids..."Gamer" isn't necessarily code for "person who fails to adult".

A simple fact, and it's not an insult to women, but the truth, they also want and need leaders. When men refuse to step up to the plate, guide them and lead by example, they will go astray.

Also...what the fuck? "Astray"? Women aren't wayward children or dogs. Some women want leaders in their lives, sure...and I'm not going to bash them for choosing that kind of relationship since it works for them...but it is rare to find a woman who needs a leader. I think even the most redpill of ladies here would say that they want a dominant husband/boyfriend but that they aren't living in a state of confusion and disarray without one.

Started off well... but... a few things

you are highly underestimating the amount of women that enjoy staying in playing videogames and watching YouTube. Shit you see these women at social events, they're usually the most uncomfortable ones cus it's not their scene
Mature men also don't put up with immature women (at least not for dating). We clearly set our boundaries, and end it if they carry on with their nonsense.

The West is now full of immature men and women who are bitter at the opposite sex for their own problems

it has always been this way, people are just more vocal about it because technology allows it

This has got to be just a trash tier attempt at satire. It's got to be. That or written by someone who's understanding of the modern world stopped during the Reagan administration.

Games are fun, and people have been playing them for eons. The way they play has just changed. People, women included, make bank playing games like LoL, Overwatch, and PUBG now. In places like Korea and China, they have entire arenas ( as in full scale sporting event venue ) dedicated solely the video games. Are you calling entire countries immature children now?

Going to events usually means spending lots of money. Funny how that part didn't get its own section of your diatribe.

Women have a much more limited pool to choose from because whilst less guys are going out to events, and more guys are staying in playing video games, women are often out and about being social animals. Whilst guys play video games, women are out doing things. If you do not put yourself out there, and mix in social circles, of course you're less desirable because you will be seen as having less friends and a boring life, and also you're not being exposed to the opposite sex.

Well now you've fucked up by falling for the women are wonderful effect, haven't you?

I've not noticed this at all firstly, lots of blokes go out and socialise, I and my mates do it all the time.

Secondly, why is the blame solely on men? If a man does decide he'd rather indulge in his own hobbies instead of seek out relationships, maybe it's because he's decided relationships are not worth the trouble.

Finally, what about women who prefer solitary hobbies? Would you go on a tirade and call them "womanchildren"?

You start your thread out saying gender differences shouldn't matter so much and people have power over their lives, then go on a big rant blaming men for being "manchildren" and placing women as perfect victims who can do no wrong.

There is a valid point about prolonged adolescence given a) a lot of people end up spending between 4 to 8 years in post-secondary education and then b) have a fuck of a time finding a job. So you get 30 year olds still living in their parents' basement.

In economic terms you have to understand the concept of diminishing marginal returns. With 168 hours in a week, to maximize value then in any given hour you pursue the endeavour that gives you the most value for that one hour. The thing is, the more time you put into something the less return you get for each additional hour. So to "prioritize" is to keep a proper balance and not put too much time into one thing.

Having said that, people vary in terms of what they find valuable. Sure, career and relationships are important, but not so much for everyone. And even the balance between those can vary. Some men need "me time" and some women are independent enough - or have a social circle - such that they don't need their SO doting on them every spare moment.

In terms of gaming, I play computer games but I am not a "gamer" because I am a tightwad who refuses to spend the cash for a hot computer, the latest releases, and the subcription fees. So, I go to GOG, drop 10 bucks on a game that might be older than many of the posters on Reddit, and it gives me hours of fun.

The thing is, I used to be a gamer. . .using "dead trees". Board games, pencil and paper RPGs and some party games. I was president of my high school gaming club, and treasurer of my university gaming club. Then two friends and I decided to make and market our own games. That took up close to 5 years of my life.

But a few observations. Having attended Gen Con, running a booth, engaging in G&C (obscure reference) and such, most game players are socially awkward and admonishing then to stop wasting time, invest more in their career and relationship is - well - a waste of time because the don't have much of a career (at least not in the "mover and shaker" sense) and they probably don't have a woman in their life (and if they do, she is a BMI 29 gamer too).

On the other hand, the vast majority of the industry professionals - and they are gamers - chose a career where they probably don't make as much money as they could, but they love it and have a boat load of fun. They are also much more "normal" than the players.

More generally - and this is directed at the OP - WTF do you do to relax, or recreate or unwind? Nothing, because that would be a waste of time?
