After doing the online dating thing for about 4 months to mixed levels of success I have noticed some places where people are messing up probably with out realizing it. So I take this as some advice from someone who knows a little advertising.

To both genders:

  1. Put your hobbies/interests in your bios. No matter how attractive you are very few people are going to match with zero signs of compatablity. If I don't see any hobbies/interests I automatically swipe away.

  2. Include at least 1 selfie and at least 1 picture of you having fun. Potential match's want to know what you actually look like and want to know that you do in fact have a life.

  3. Put in your bio the kind of person your looking for. If you only like super tall guys or only like redheaded girls put that in your bio because it help people self sort them selves out and ensures your only getting people who have a chance.

To the ladies:

  1. When you reach the back and forth texting phase please put some energy into the conversation. One word answers and emojis give us zero clues about you and really just makes us feel like your not actually interested. Show some interest and you'll see a big pay off.

  2. Please stop with the angry bios. Totally get that you don't want to get hurt again but righting a bio about how "Cheaters should swipe left" just makes you like you've already written off the concept of a loving relationship.

To the guys:

  1. Put a little romance in your bios. Do you want to have sunset picnics or walk on the beach or take her to see time square. Put that in your bio a little bit of the sappy stuff goes long way in showing emotional maturity.

  2. A picture in nice dress clothes is better than a shirtless picture. Showing that you know how to dress shows that your an adult. Shirtless pictures especially as the main picture seems needy.

Hope these tips help.
