Why do RPs get defensive when generalized?

Everybody gets defensive when generalized if that generalization does not apply to them, but is being used against them.

Plus AWALT is supposed to be like a rule of thumb to navigate dating. ARPALT is kind of dumb, because why do blues need it? You’re unlikely to ever meet a terp in real life, so what are you screening for?

In those examples you quoted there I don't really see them getting defensive, they just want to disassociate themselves from the whackjobs who make up the majority of the TRP sub.

Nobody likes it when a demographic they belong to is generalized negatively. That being said some RPers get more defensive than others because some RPers are more tied to the identity of being red pilled. Your example isn’t really a great one though. “I don’t really do that/believe that” isn’t a particularly defensive statement.

The defensiveness comes out more often when they fight tooth and nail about any criticism of TRP IMO.

The equivalent of AWALT isn't ARPALT, but AMALT - and the equivalent of ARPALT is ABPALT. Compare like with like: Opinions are different from general behavioral patterns.

Because being a woman is biology, but being RP is a choice. Behavior stemming from the basal ganglia is more predictable than behavior stemming from the higher brain. Lots of RP guys pick and choose what's most useful out of TRP teachings for them, and most end up having relationships and love, instead of just casual sex/plates.

You don't under AWALT. It doesn't literally mean All Women Are Like That. It means All Women Are (potentially) Like That. The generalization makes it easy to navigate the waters within your own frame.

So by you saying something to the effect of "RPers are all women haters", you are generalizing us as a whole for your benefit. Just don't be surprised that a good % of us simply don't hate women and actually love them in all their hypergamic glory.

They get defensive IMO because RP is amoral and deep down many people do operate from a moral basis. The fact that RP is amoral means that a married RP can cheat, even of his wife is a good wife, and not be criticized because as a RP man it his ship he is the captain of.

The "not all RP guys" group are the ones that still have standards or morals who want to differentiate from the others. This allows them to stay RP and be able to engage in a place designated for men.

It's sort of like Christianity, where the common perception is that Christians are rigid hypocrites who are judgmental. A Christian gets to "that's not me, not all Christians are like that."

It is an internal rationalization of conflict between what the group a endorses as a whole versus the individuality of its adherents.

Second, "not all RPers are like that" also diffuses the issue of it being accused of being cult or cult-like. Can't be a cult if members can chose to act on their own belief system or morals.

Its the same reason why moderate feminists distance themselves from insane radical feminists. Or why moderate democrats distance themselves from the anarchist socialists and communists. Or why moderate republicans distance themselves from tea partiers and white supremecists and theocrats. There are extremists and fundamentalists in every socio-political ideology, and the sane moderates do not want to be associated with them.

AWALT does not describe a socio-political ideology. Its an attempt to describe common behavioral and cognitive trends in female human beings. And dont forget, AMALT is also very valid for men, and they freely admit that in the red pill. Its important for men to understand and get control of their own instictual AMALT tendencies.

RP does not generalize half the population. We look at behaviors and posit causes to those behaviors. We offer a hypothesis about female nature to arm men to deal with women in a dating field that is no longer equitable and completely lacking a constructive male identity.

RP does not say all women are disease ridden, cock-carousel riding, cheating whores always seeking the Bigger Better Deal. Except in two cases, RedPill Rage (think a former smoker now a anti-smoking crusader) or to fight off the innate starry-eyed romantic desire that men have toward women, it is a pragmatic protective response to the Polygamous Sex.

RP does say every woman will branch-swing if the right conditions are met. RP does day women are not above the AF/BB dynamic. RP does say women show Machiavellianism. I'd say because there's some top level RP ideas, and communities that practice RP and apply those rules in different ways.

Stated alternatively, several betas spend their time coming to play on reddit and ask eachother if they lifted or not and that they probably should have lifted. Because AWALT doesn’t mean all women are whores that are going to cheat on you, etc. It refers to the fact that all women are biologically programmed with hypergamy or monkey branching. Key difference is in the word PROGRAMED. Just because someone is biologically set that way, doesn’t mean they will act upon it. Now, ill have to admit that all the people on RP aren’t perfect. Are there people that call all women whores? Yep. Every side of the equation will have bad apples. Also, every side will have people that generalize, but also hate being generalized at the same time.
