I personally have always felt preferences are stupid and I never understood them. I feel like if you have a specific person you want to date in your head you’re going to shut yourself off from so many potentially great people that it didn’t make sense to me. I mean this for everything. Height, weight, race, nationality etc.

But whenever I said this men would always tell me that they should be allowed to have preferences. Which meant they should be allowed to date a specific type of woman because they cannot help whom they are attracted to. Took me a while but it made sense to me. Innate attraction is a thing we can’t describe it but we all experience it. That’s all cool. But now that I have come to understand that people should be allowed to indulge in their preferences it seems like now people (I’m being to nice I mean men) are feeling upset when some women’s preferences exclude them due to height. Which I agree with. It’s why I though preferences were stupid in the first place. Why not date someone who is under 6ft that seems ludicrous to me.

It doesn’t make sense to hold these two contrasting opinions simultaneously. Because it seems that some men want to hold dating preferences while not having someone hold a dating preference against them. I’ve seen women do this too. Does that make sense? Idk if I should go back to railing against preferences or not.
