A few decades ago, older fellas who's sexua days were behind them were referred to as being over the hill. In RP theory, we speak of the wall. These two concepts are not one and the same. Over the hill is when your equipment or desire cease to function. Past the wall is when you become less desirable to men. Let's dig in.
A wall is a divider
Simply put, the wall "separates" between the attractive and unattractive women.
But why - you may ask - is there a separation between attractive and unattractive women, isn't there a 1-10 attractiveness scale? If it's a scale, there's a gradual incline and decline, not a clear division.
Default setting for sexual attraction
One of the key differences between men and women is their default setting for sexual attraction, sexual desire and general willingness to engage with members of the opposite sex. For men, the default is yes unless it's no. For women, the default is no unless it's yes.
Men find women sexually attractive, men want to engage sexually with women and men want to engage with women in other ways. This is the default setting. Something needs to change for the setting to change. If a woman is hideous, she becomes sexually unappealing. If she's a harpy, she becomes unappealing to be near her even if she's smoking hot.
Not so for women. Women have their setting for men as being unattractive and unappealing, sexually and otherwise. Only a man who proves himself worthy can move into the territory of appeal.
Therefore, a clear division is present between the default setting of women being attractive and appealing and those who are unattractive and unappealing. Of course, an attractive woman can be more attractive than another attractive woman, hence the 1-10 scale.
The decline in sexual appeal
The exact definition of the wall is unclear. Is it the descent from very attractive to less attractive? Is it the descent into being hideous? If different people will define it differently just like different people will rate attractiveness itself differently. The exact point of the wall is irrelevant and besides the point. TRP idea is that there is a wall - a point where the SMV of a woman is in decline and she's no longer as hot as she used to be.
The wall is nature's way of broadcasting a woman's fertility to men. When her looks decline, she's less sexually appealing to men. This helps men choose their mates accordingly. Makeup can artificially raise the SMV of a woman when it's objectively lower. That's why it's referred to as fakeup in RP circles, but that's a topic for another day.
Both sides of the divide
Another aspect of the wall is that women begin their lives on the attractive side of the wall and then they head over to the unattractive side. Men OTOH, begin on the unattractive side of the wall and maybe they'll become attractive later on.
This is because youth and fertility are attractive in women. Therefore, women become less attractive as they age with the wear and tear of life. OTOH, strength, character and success (etc) are attractive in men. Therefore, they're much less attractive as young adults and become more attractive as they age and become more established in life.
Because female sexuality has more components to it and it's more complex, there's less of a clear wall. However, women are either attractive or hideous. Therefore, more of a clear wall exists.
Conclusion
A clear wall divides between sexually appealing women and sexually unappealing women. More of a clear divide is present due to innate male preferences.
Women begin on the attractive side of the wall, while men begin on the unattractive side. In a way, we're metaphorically traveling towards each other before traveling past each other. As they say - women are born rich and die poor. Men are born poor and maybe will die rich.
Cheers!
