Hello ladies, I’ve (24F) been pondering how long should you know your partner for before getting married? I’ve seen couples waiting several years and some getting married within months, and am hoping to learn more about what people consider ideal or realistic. Should this amount of knowing them vary depending on your age?

When is it acceptable for a woman to expect a marriage proposal during the courting period? (6 months? 1 year?) I’ve had people tell me they can’t fathom marrying someone without knowing them for years and some who say 6 months is enough. I’ve also seen marriages resulting from even shorter courtships. I’m just trying to understand what my expectations should be and how long should a woman vet and be vetted for? I personally am somewhat impulsive, so I can see myself getting married in a short time of meeting someone but I realize that’s not the social norm and want to make sure I wait the right amount and also have realistic expectations.
