I was watching Forrest Gump last night, the first time in years, and by the end of it I realized it's possibly the most offensive portrayal of a beta male ever put too film (even though it's still a great movie).

Forrest, despite being mentally (and kinda physically) handicap, accomplishes more than any man could ever hope to accomplish. He's a star football player, a war hero, an ambassador between nations through sports, a billionaire (which he accomplished through extreme courage, will, vision, and guts), and it goes on and on.

Any guy would dream to accomplish a fraction of what this guy did. But throughout the movie, what's his only focus? Some stupid chick.

She uses him for validation, like showing him her tits in the dorm room, knowing she'll never bang him. When she has an abusive boyfriend and Forrest white knights she ends up berating Forrest.

Basically, over and over again she leads Forrest on, while he maintains a lifetime dedication to the girl the rejects him over and over again. Also, remember, she's doing it to a guy who is mentally retarded (which is a perfect way to describe any guy who does these behaviors).

Until... she's gets AIDS. Then she seeks him out and confesses her love for him. Not only that but she manages to spit out a kid and pins it on the poor retarded guy. He'll now be left caring for after she's dead, and you know he never did a paternity test even though she's shown as a major slut throughout the film.

Worst of all, she goes so far as marrying the guy when she knows they of course can't consummate their marriage. At least she gets a piece of the money, and has a total dope dedicated to her memory for the rest of his life.

Don't be a Gump.
