Marriage/Relationship counseling is such a sick hustle. People pretty much pay someone big money to try and salvage something that is fundamentally broken beyond repair as evidenced by the need to seek out counselling in the first place.

More on topic, I don't blame the OP of that thread. I highly doubt anyone here would have the fortitude or resolve to live the rest of their life with a completely physically disabled person either. Yes, it's sad and scummy on the exterior but let's not be hypocritical and act like physical relations aren't a massive part of any healthy relationship. I'd chalk this up to a sad fact of life. This is also why I don't advise taking a bullet figuratively or literally for anybody who isn't direct blood family. For better or for worse, the only people you can come close to expecting to stay involved in your life permanently are your nuclear family. The current state of affairs surrounding family life in the west is getting pretty terrible though, which is probably why a place like this sub even exists in the first place.

I doubt many could stay with someone who became fully disabled like this, no matter what the circumstance of the incident.

I advise to never take a bullet for a women you are involved with. It is pretty much a blue pill fundamental that men must die to save a women. I have never in my years, seen a single incident where a women has died for her man.

Comes to show that Men love women not in the same way that woman can love men. Same goes for loyalty.

I knew a man in his late 50s married to his wife who became stricken with Cancer. The cancer ate away at her kidneys requiring a transplant, then took her eyesight leaving her blind for the past 10 years, destroyed her white blood cells causing her to be home ridden and super sensitive to the environment. Gout took over her joints. Her health was failing and the brink of death. She is the mother of 3 children, he stayed by her side all the way till the final moments when she passed. They've been married for 32 years.

That's what men do. Men have loyalty, honor, dedication, and love. Women seek opportunity, validation, and live only in the now.

Obvious RP truths here, and also another lesson. Carry a weapon at all times, it doesn't have to be a gun if that's not your thing, but something. A knife, a taser, pepper spray, SOMETHING. I always have a knife, and usually a Glock 23. You never know what the other guy might have. It's of course best to not use it, and be in good enough shape to beat the other guys ass, but if it's a group that is armed, the look on their faces when you draw on them is wonderful.

Life is not fair. He did what he thought was right to protect her, most men would do the same for their wives. It was an honorable thing to do. That being said, the wife didn't force him to protect her. Let me put it this way, it's easy to say she should stick with him, but she really had no say in whether she would want that protection if it was phrased as a choice. For example, if the choices were the following:

Take a viscous beating, that may fuck you up REAL bad.
Let you husband take the beating, but if he does, he'll be fucked up and get paralyzed. Not just legs, but arms too. So he can't dress, eat, fuck, fix the house, help with kids, get in and out of bed, and perhaps most horribly: can't wipe his own ass . . . all for life. 50 more freakin years.

Presented this way, realistically the wife might take her chances and take the beating.

Sadly. This is the result of a man raised in a culture where men are expected to sacrifice themselves for the good of others. To an extent this is a positive masculine trait. However. The modern woman is not worth making sacrifices (especially ones as extreme as this) for. Children maybe. But women, No. The sooner men start to internalize this fact the better.

All men are seen as disposeable by women, society and governments. Don't ever forget that.
