This is the only time in a while that I have made two posts so close together but I have been thinking about this for a while.

My brother is an athlete playing football(american football). He also works in some restaurants and runs a few nightclubs on occasion. He's hosted rappers and several celebrities. His girlfriend is an Italian top class model whilst his ex was an eastern rich model.

I've been sitting down for a while trying to study him. We both grew up in the same household yet we ended up so different. Whenever I ask him for advice relating to girls and such he simply tells me to focus on my business as everything else will come.

A few days ago I had the thought of looking at his texts to me in order to maybe pick up stuff. Looking at it under an analytical view, I started to notice many many important things.

  • The dude does not use Emojis. None. I scrolled far back up and I couldn't find a single one in our messages. If something was funny, he'd simply type "Haha".

  • He doesn't use question marks. I've read about this before but never really seen it in application. He makes statements never using a question mark at all.

  • He's very very short and blunt. He'll sometimes give one word answers that are direct to the point.

Here's an example of one of our conversations:

Me: (I send him a funny picture of me in a huge coat)

Him: Haha cool

Everybody else I sent that picture to started talking and making jokes etc etc. Starting conversations. He just writes two words and the conversation ends there.

Context for the following conversation is that I was telling him how I was tired of living in a small town missing out on all the shit that people my age are doing.

Me: I'm stuck here and all I can do is focus on my business shit

Him: Haha

Him: You're a pussy

Me: Lol

Him: You missed out on what

Me: I don't know, I just feel left out.

Him: One of the first things we learned is basic human constraint

Him: We all want a lot of things but there are only so few things

Him: You only have 24 hours in a day

Him: Stop trying to socialise and spend time investing in your work

The reason I find his texting interesting is that I've seen tinder screenshots of guys jumping through hoops, using thousands of emoji's to get a date/number from the girl. I couldn't imagine my brother doing that, it's just not his personality.

Any thoughts on this? Starting today I plan to cut out emojis and question marks from my conversations
