A fisherman never asks the trout for tips on fishing technique.

[–]RedFlagsAreGood 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This analogy, while perfectly valid, is consistently misinterpreted by people who haven't taken the pill. They always focus on the fact that the fish doesn't want to be caught instead of the fact that the fish has no knowledge of what the fisherman is doing. A better analogy might be: don't ask a doctor how to sell luxury cars.

[–]1BadgerBurger 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really like that analogy. The doctor wants to buy a luxury car. He knows what he wants the car to have. But the salesman knows how to get him to spend his money on the car he's selling.

Imagine the fish could talk, would it tell you the truth even if it knew how to catch fish?

[–]cynwrig -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And even if it told you the truth, would you be able to use its advice?

Shark: Swim about till you smell something wounded, hear something that sounds weak or see a prey item swimming poorly. Ambush it from its blind side.

Flounder: Lie in the mud, when something good swims by, pop up and eat it.

Deep sea angler fish: First, tie a fishing pole to your head....

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why would it tell you how to catch its family and species? It would lie to keep them safe, if it wants to get caught, it will lie to keep you ball to itself.

I was thinking the same thing. I was going to argue the point but decided it would fall on deaf ears.

I've never known 'just be nice and treat her like a human, be interested in what she has to say' to ever get anyone I've ever known laid. It's a stupid strategy.

Most times, guys hear that message, and try it on for size, then quickly learn that it doesn't work for shit. Then you figure out that you have to play games, work your frames and manage the shit tests, and that seems to get the most effect.

I was genuinely looking for a discussion on philosophy and strategies. They basically took my olive branch and said go fuck yourself.

How OP feels eliciting and reading feminist advice.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was thinking the same thing. I was going to argue the point but decided it would fall on deaf ears.

That, my friend, is the right call.

Arguing with these people will just give you a headache. Dont bother.

[–]Manuel_S 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He failed to get them going on his argument by saying he was for it cause it made for easy lays.

Now thats exactly the truth, but truth is inconvenient here and he made that bit an easy target, diverting attention from the rest.

Pity, it could have been funnier.

[–]RedFlagsAreGood 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly this.

OP, If you're going to talk to feminists, or adherents of identity politics in general, you have to be very careful about what you say. If you say anything objectionable to them, they will ignore whatever else you had to say and focus on the objectionable bit and on whatever conclusions they drew as a result. Or better yet, just don't bother.

"bro"

As an aside, I've been wondering something for a number of years now.

Throughout my adolescence and young adulthood, I've been rather annoyed by terms of "male bonding," for lack of a better description. Deep down, I would object to everything from "dude," "buddy," and now "bro" (a throwback to the 70s?).

I learned long ago not to make too much of a stink about it, because it puts me in a position where I'm perceived as someone that ruins the fun for everyone. Nevertheless I find it kind of patronizing to varying degrees (and recently, when my ex- cheated on me, the guy used it exactly as such).

But as I've gotten older, it's affected me less and less. And I'm starting to wonder if I should embrace it.

the mangina at the top, desperately pandering to his feminist overlords for female attention from these hogs in the form of upvotes

The fact that /u/macnelly is being perceived as a mangina has raised the question: is "bro," then, a sign of alpha or beta mentality? Or is it not indicative either way?

[–]LaserSoundMusic 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are we seriously analyzing the subtext of the term "bro" now?

[–]RejectionEquality1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yes, I know. Terrible thing to be discussing strange, taboo subjects in /r/TheRedPill.

[–]7r1993rWarn1n9 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think "bro" (not "dude" nor "buddy" but only "bro") is associated to the stereotypical promiscuous and chauvinistic frat guy (not saying it's an accurate stereotype, not being American I've never met a frat member, but the stereotype certainly exists). That poster is using that term ironically to make fun of OP, just like somebody from here might call a detractor of ours a "strong, liberated womyn".

[–]RejectionEquality-2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yes, I think it has the same stereotype and I get that same impression from the post. I think most times it's used exactly as I described: as a patronizing display of dominance (or as you describe, as ironic). It's amplified by how un-bro the subject is.

I'd like to keep thinking that refraining from using it is more dominant and a stronger DHV. Seeing it being used by a mangina is interesting, and a first for me. Hence my post.

[–]MemebaseAccount 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't get offended by "bro" so easily. Makes you look weak. If somebody says it in a condescending way, it's condescending. If they say it to you as a friend, it's friendly. Beyond that, who cares?

[–]648262 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow there are a lot of men in askfeminism. Wtf

Edit: I wanna get this off my chest. I hate how western feminism flaunts around as being for equal rights yet isn't. You know, its fucked up how places in the middle east force their women to hide and force their daughters into marriage at a young age. That kind of shit is inequality. That is the kind of shit feminists should care about. Not "rape culture" or objectification in media (males get objectified too btw. Robin thicke- object. Thor- object). But nope. No tumblr posts about how women in bangladesh have to work in shitty environments. No tumblr posts about how japanese men have shut off their dicks. Nope. All they want is to abuse the system, create divorce laws which unequally favor the female, have staunch child support laws which are constantly abused by gold diggers and the more intelligent 9s. And next they want a female as president. That will turn out great. "Hey lets have a woman make all of our important military decisions!" I know im generalizing but fuck it, when in Rome do as the Romans do.

As far as it goes with me, I'm not on the Alpha/Beta spectrum. I find the way most men go about getting laid quite tedious and not worth the effort. So my suggestion is that of what folks over on AVFM would call a Zeta Male.

Mangina's are mangina's. They've taken on this new thing where they ally themselves with the cunts and they like to go on and cackle along about fedora's or what have you. The genius of it is that they're 'fedoras.' They're just fedora's who've successfully convinced themselves that all they want to do is be friends with women. Spouting feminist dogma about respecting and being supportive of women with a small speck in the back of their brains that tells them that if they keep this up, sooner or later it will get them laid. Which is wrong, obviously.

Feminists, both outside and on the internet, complete gobshite. Women need something to complain about, to be specific middle to upper class women (coincidentally the same type of women who make up the bulk of Reddit and Tumblr feminists) need something to complain about. But obviously it's 2013 and they've run out of ideas, they've got the whole world resting in their palm, they're living the life at the moment.

In the end, they're women. If you need some amusement, sure, go to TrollX or askfeminism and have a laugh but I guarantee you that these same girls have second Reddit accounts and second Tumblr accounts that are all about being dirty sluts. GW posts, thousands of GIFs of rough sex throughout pages of Tumblr blogs. These girls like to be choked, slapped, spanked and fucked hard. They want men, not these fucking mangina's spouting off their dogma.

The moment you play into their bullshit, you can't undo it. You have to be a sexual conman, which granted, you can be taught to be to undo your mess. But the best possible course of action is to play the realization game and then the numbers game. Realize that the gender you want to stick your dick in makes up close to half the population and that more than one of them wants your cock. Which comes to not playing into their bullshit. Like I said, as a 'Zeta' I abandon ship as soon as I'm not feeling it. I've never bought a girl a drink, I've never bought a girl anything actually.

It goes slut, girlfriend, wife. A slut is what you want, you go up, you do your thing and you take her home. If she's not ready you don't dwell, you don't play the game of "oh maybe another drink" and you don't take her looks to heart. You get up without saying a word and you continue your search, make her feel worthless but not completely offended because you definitely could come right round again and get her up a second time if a full moons out.

A girlfriend is a hot girl, always. No, a girlfriend is a gorgeous girl, that fucks well and is into all the shit you're into. This girl should be so great that you need the pussy on tap and a phone call away with no interruption. This girl is the girl, you catch me? I'm talking this girl likes a smack in the face before she eats your ass (LOL). At least that's my personal take and experience on what a girlfriend is.

A wife is someone that loves you more than you love her, always, no exception. A wife is someone that'll go along with every counter measure to save your sack and a girl who goes along for the ride without a fuss. Marriage is a ride regardless, most just happen to be with a woman who's kicking and screaming along the way. A wife is someone that sits in the fucking chair with her seatbelt on and doesn't make a fuss.

But, like I said. This is my take on it and it's how I feel and what I've gone through. I've never cared enough about a girl where her looks, words or whatever hurt me. And I've never been naive enough to believe a girl when she looks in my eyes or tells me she loves me like I'm a fucking muppet.

TL;DR Don't be fucking stupid, keep your dick about you.

That was the part that stood out to me the most. They got really hung up on my belief that altruism is inherently selfish. It was stupid too because basically what I was saying was 'hey, promoting eradicating slut-shaming and a pro-sex attitude in society benefits both men and women, so that's why I think it's great, it helps you AND it helps me', and they couldn't get over the supposed selfishness of it.

Yeah, and if women "knew" how things worked, lesbian couples would be happy and drama free.

Have you ever talked to a lesbian about what they think about women, especially other girls who will flirt with them, even make out with them, then go home with a guy?

They have more hate built up than the most bitter guys even. It's crazy...in a kind of hilarious way.

[–]ajswdf 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

After the first paragraph, the first answer isn't a complete disaster if you read it the right way. He's essencially saying to treat women like a human being, which TRP can translate as treat her like one of the guys. That would go a long way in improving a lot of betas.

EDIT: Even the third answer you can make pretty good if you squint. She says to not make women uncomfortable, which being alpha helps (women are only uncomfortable when they guy who's hitting on them isn't attractive). Even the part about complementing them on something other than their looks is good advise. You have to ignore the whole "don't think of women as interchangeable" thing though.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's insulting because it implies that beta/unattractive men don't already do this, and that alpha/attractive men do. In reality, it's more or less irrelevant whether he treats her like a being in terms of outcomes. Only her attraction to him is relevant.

[–]FuriousMouse 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Remember that relationships are women's way of raising their social status in return of sex.

So when you ask them of how to get sex, they will tell you to do things that raise their social status, but of course they will then no longer have any reason to give you sex.

[–]Kombaiya 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your post was well wrote. I laughed at it because it takes serious leaps of the imagination from the feminist perspective to answer it seriously.

I only read the top response which I don't believe to be intellectually honest. He said "Just don't rape anyone," the reality is the vast majority will never rape anyone in a million years. So really that kind of advice is validating almost all TRP theory just as long as they don't rape.

The key is that feminists don't actually believe this. They are just pretending to step outside the feminist zone in order to butter you up. Just like how scientologists deny lord zenu.

[–]frazzleddd 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really couldn't give less of a shit what they think regardless of their answer or the topic.

Its best not even reading their garbage

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is it just me, or are the feminist "men" 10000x worse than the nastiest jabba the hut fat femcunt any day of the week? Any time I see feminist "men" chime in to give advice I feel sick.
