My main issue with users on TRP is 'lifestyle overload'. I'll explain this later on.
The tenet of TRP is blue pill boys go in one end, and confident, successful men come out the other. This journey is not instantaneous, it requires years of hard work, dedication and sacrifice, the journey itself is part of the process in shaping the newly reformed alpha we are destined to become.
I discovered TRP last year when I was dumped by my first LTR at the age of 19. I became depressed, and searched the internet for help, found TRP, started lifting, looked for a new job, moved out of home, and started reading, meditating and constantly practiced theory on my friends at uni. I had a new lease on life.
After a few months, I was back into old habits; I stopped my cold showers and meditation, gravitated back towards porn, stopped going out as much, and lost enthusiasm for my hobbies. The only thing that didn't change was my passion for lifting.
This brings me to my main point: This is an internet forum, of sorts. None of you know what I look like, how old I am, what country I am from, or how much money I make. The reverse scenario is true. I know nothing about you as well.
We read comments of other successful men, and sub-consciously we assume they are like us, they are the same age and of the same demographic as us. But that's often not true, TRP has surprised my with the diversity of men it attracts.
When you read the side-bar and the classic posts from red pill veterans, it would be fair to assume you were filled with an eager thirst to start the journey towards the new 'you'. The more alpha 'you', like I was. But, I also think it's fair to assume that most of these men we idolize and that exhibit the core tenets of TRP, are in there 30s and 40s. They are mature, experienced men. Now, I'm not saying age should discredit their views, but when you have a naive TRP newbie jotting down page after page of notes from men with decades more experience, there is a clear factor being ignored here:
The gap in time!
I attribute the failure of the newbie to 'lifestyle overload'.
Being humans, we want to acheive the best possible result in the shortest time with the least amount of effort. I think I'm correct in assuming a lot of new TRP users do the same thing. They come to TRP and are bombarded with to-do lists of books they must read, gym programs and diets they must try, dedicated time to practicing game, refining and learning hobbies, buying and cultivating a new wardrobe, refining their time management and lifestyle. I could go on forever.
A newbie making so many changes at once WILL lead to failure. We burn ourselves out. We get frustrated. We gravitate to old comforts to 'relieve the stress' (at least, that's what we tell ourselves), and before you know it, we're back at square one. It is our nature, our brains do not like too much change, finding the right equillibrium of positive change with old habits is a fickle line.
So what's the solution?
It's pretty simple:
Change your lifestyle one step at a time. Plan your transformation long term!
For example:
Last year I decided to dedicate my monk mode to fitness and refining my physique. Yes, I still waste time playing video games, and yes I didn't spend as much time as I should have gaming women (in fact I did barely anything in that regard). But, I also spent a lot of time researching nutrition, different training methods, experimented with my routine and form to acheive maximal results. I could dedicate a rodiculous amount of time to one goal and it WORKED.
I gave myself one year to acheive three goals: get my weight up to 70kg with 15%bf Save up enough money for my surgery Get a tan
Since last year I've gone from 55kg, to 80kg (sorry Americans), staying at around 15% bf, and it's still going up, although not as rapidly.
I started using melanotan (for those that don't know, it is a peptide that speeds up and reduces upkeep of skin tanning) and started shaving my body.
I saved up a lot of money for surgery I'm having In a few weeks to fix a deviated septum and some other issues, which has been a major issue affecting not only my sleep and athletic performance, but also my self-esteem.
I overall feel better, and more confident, I recieve attention from women I never got before, I even get asked for advice on form by people I know in the gym (humble brag).
Looking back, I know I've acheived my goals and now I feel I am at the level where I can introduce another TRP elements into my regime.
For the next year my focus is improving my social skills and gaming woman, now that I have the physique and confidence levels I lacked before. This is well timed, as I am moving to a new city in a few months.
I know I'm probably going to have mud slung at me for approaching this so...non-chalantly, but it works for me, and I thought it might help some newer TRP users who had the same trouble as me. You have your whole life to become a man, don't be naive and try to completely transform yourself in one year, it just isn't possible.
