You remember when Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram was in the news for kidnapping 276 schoolgirls in 2014?

There's been massive government and media attention directed toward the story:

It turns out that boys have also been kidnapped, beaten, and pressed into service as child soldiers too, in far greater numbers than girls--an estimated 10,000 boys were kidnapped in the three years prior to the 2014 schoolgirl kidnappings.

Yet there was far less coverage of the kidnapping of the boys. It wasn't until the girls were kidnapped that the media started paying attention.

Contrary to popular belief, most women have next to no empathy at all.

I have dated women who theoretically should have the highest empathy levels: doctors, nurses, etc. The doctors had the worst levels of empathy. Yet, always had "empathy" for some random woman in Africa. But if you showed any weakness you could see her vagina start to dry out like an African desert.

Empathy requires abstraction to place yourself in the other persons' shoes. Most women are solipsistic. Hence it's easier to see themselves as the little girl. This is also why it's easy to create gynocentric society. Women are incapable (and unwilling) to view the world through a man's lens. Mostly because she physically cannot do it. (She may create some bullshit interpretation like "muh patriarchy" but of course this conception has no basis in reality outside of their juvenile abstraction capabilities.)

The mistake men make is assuming women are empathetic. They are caring to those weaker and cuter: children, puppies, and kittens. But that is not empathy. So when you show any weakness or vulnerability it turns her off in disgust.

No one cares about boys or men in our society. As a male you are an expendable resource, and despite cries of us living in a "patriarchy" we have always been this way and it's not going to change. People just don't feel for boys the same way they feel for girls. The sooner you accept this the sooner you can progress to the next chapter of your life/development. Life isn't fair to men and that's just the way it is.

Both story's are sad as fuck. But I honestly want to know what went through their mind when they heard the boys story.

From my judgement they simply just don't care what happens to boys or men. They identify with women's issues and only women's issues and if it doesn't affect them they won't care.

Unfortunately, we’re all conditioned to protect girls and women as if they were china dolls. We don’t give little boys or men the same luxury. That’s why gender is such a dangerous concept. It diminishes the experiences we all have, and it makes trauma especially difficult to address in the male arena.

There's some good points made here, but here's a different perspective.

If you are the only male in a room full of women who are chatting away, emoting and crying about whatever topic...pretty much anything you say as a man making a point is going to stop the flow of the conversation and feel awkward.

If you had only told the story about the boy, they would have had a similar reaction. Perhaps women experience empathy differently, but motherly instincts alone would cause some emotional reaction to that horrific story.

The lack of empathy for men makes more sense when you understand this truth: men are less valuable to the survival of humanity. It can be a tough pill to swallow but it's biologically true. 100 women and 1 man can populate a civilization easier than 100 men and 1 woman. Society cares more about women out of necessity for survival.

In place like that, fathers matter a lot. They bring food to home. Maybe her mother had to marry another man as 2nd or 3rd wife. It may not be bad as it sounds only if new man is good person but still boy's life is way more fucked up.

The first time I read through your post, I thought your statement was referring to the boy witnessing the girl being raped. That confused me and I also made a "huh?" That might have been unclear.

Empathy is an intimate and important source of information. People are generally state-dependant animals. Knowing how someone feels is very important. Empathy, should not however, trigger irrational decision making on your part.

the story about the girl had a much bigger impact on them because it was easier for them to imagine it happening to them. women worry about getting raped and they've all been little girls, so it was easy for them to identify with a little girl who got raped vs a boy who had to play soccer with his dad's head.

It's because rape is the worst thing that can happen to a women. To a female, nothing makes them feel more powerless than having their greatest power takin from them. This is deeply ingrained in their psyche.

Don't believe me? Hang out with a couple women for a few drinks. Then casually guide the conversation where the topic of rape comes up. Watch their reaction. Guaranteed they become tense, on edge and very defensive.

The girls you work with put less stock in the father being killed, because to them, the girl being raped was much worse. I believe women hold this opinion on a subconscious level as well.

I'd even postulate that the reason this triggered you so much is because what the boy was subjected to is much worse in your opinion. (it's BP conditioning that prevents you from owning this BTW) To a man, the act of watching his father be decapitated is one of the worst things imaginable. To see the head of your first hero, the guy who teaches you how to be a man, laying their on the ground in front of you is almost beyond compression.

Fostering anger towards women for simply doing what's natural to them is wasted time that only stifles your progression in becoming an attractive man. Acknowledge this reality, but don't wallow in it.
