At this point of internet history, It's not a secret anymore the online dating sh#t is a pure time waster filled with demanding single mothers who think butter does not melt in their mouths. Just because they have a pulse, even when they look like Shrek, they successfully convinced themselves that they "deserve" a six-packed billionnaire Brad Clooney with a gold 8/10 inches d@ck who does the dishes. Cherry on the take-it-deep-and-pretend-you-love-it-game-of-life cake, but maybe it's different nowadays, men have to pay premium prices and, of course, it's free for the post-wall princesses with flat EEGs. Don't want to be a pest but, if you feel lonely, go outside and try to meet some IRL. It's probably not gonna get better but who knows? You feel horny? Rub a good one or hire an hourly escort then go on with your business. Anything. But, please, young (or older) men, do not waste time and money with something so ungratifying at best if not straight up frustrating. I match with women on apps. I try to be creative, keep the conversation going and be polite yet cheeky, playful. 99/100 times the conversation ends with her saying «haha», and at that point I have a hard rule that says it’s fucking done with.

I contacted a girl I met at a gig and exchanged two words with after three months, asked her out for coffee and she accepted. I got swamped with work and forgot the entire thing (we didn’t set a time) and she contacted ME a week later to ask what happened to coffee.

All this in a roundabout way to say, if she’s interested this shit works itself out. If she isn’t, fuck her.

Figuratively, don’t fuck girls who aren’t interested.

Edited to clarify: married my post-college, pre-Army sweetheart and it's been amazing ever since. And yes I have two stepkids, and they're great and that's fine, plus she gave me my own son that I wasn't supposed to have, and he's amazing. And the good news is we all love each other like a family. It can be done.

And for full context, for my part this was after two divorces and 8.5 years in the service, with a lot of warzone time. I fucked up my first marriage with a good person that I loved, but she just wasn't into sex and the was tough. My second marriage was just a crazy. My headspace has changed a lot since, and I'm very fortunate/blessed to be where I am now and recognize that.

That being said, yeah, online dating fucking sucks.

Unfortunately for me I was in Adderall at the time so I could easily get the conversation fired up again.

Towards the end I was so fed up that I just told her I wasn’t going to respond to low energy one word texts.

I learned to just drop the girl like a hot potato when this happens by saying stuff along the lines of "i'm gonna go watch paint dry now" or if she was particularly boring by outright saying "this is annoying,see ya".

I ended up in a short relationship with such a girl and she'd complain to me if we wouldn't talk about anything special during a dinner or night out while she didn't even try starting or carrying a convo,all she did was sit there and huff with a "entertain me" look,do i look like a friggin court jester to you?

Sounds like interacting with my kids at the dinner table. First rule is you have to ask specific leading questions, not broad open-ended questions that lend themselves to one-word answers.

If only I could teach my younger brothers: Don't capitulate to passive aggressive behavior. My first advice is to avoid online dating. If you still go online dating, don't waste your time (because you'll ultimate realize how much of a waste of time it is).
