I have recently developed a sickness and lost weight as a result. I lost 2kgs in a week and I was already underweight to begin with. I have been put on a restricted diet of only boiled food by my doctor. My concerns for some hidden serious illness went through the roof today and so I felt I should let the guy I'm dating know expecting some reassurance. I told him about the weight loss and he has been continuously hearing about my struggles with the sickness so he knows the rest. His reaction was "All your sexiness will fade if that keeps happening". I told him it was really selfish of him to be most concerned about my sexiness when I'm battling an illness and he said "How else do u think u will look like with only bones left?" I broke down and he blamed me for always overreacting and said he didn't mean it that way.

He shifted all the blame on me and said he wouldn't talk to me again since I'm always fighting with him for no reason. I reminded him that I have an illness I have no control over and unless I get new organs I can't make myself gain weight that easily. He said "I know but nobody would want to look like a sack of bones" and I should not get offended over something so true. I have struggled with body image issues all my life so I can't decide if I'm overreacting or not, please help me. I wanted to ask this on FDS because I've been a lurker here for long and genuinely admire your thoughts and advices.
