As the title implies, I'm a single dad of two younger boys, but I'm not divorced, instead my wife passed away. While I know I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life (I'm 37), I'm in no mindset emotionally to actually be dating, so this is more so I can better understand the other side of the equation, so to speak, and know what I'm going up against when that day finally arrives.
So with that said, I am curious what the FDS stance would be on a dude walking a different path than most single dads. I get that if you don't want kids, my circumstance changes nothing, but of those that don't stop at kids, it seems like there is still a significant amount apprehension over the failed prior relationship of a divorcee. I don't have that aspect of single fatherhood, but I'm wondering what different types of concerns/flags would there be that I would need to overcome?
Just wondering how my situation is looked upon in comparison to the more common single dad predicament that I see throughout the dating landscape: is it better, worse, or does it all wash out in the end?
