Amused Mastery:

I could use some hard-reading links on amused matery. Not a 1,000 word post by Rollo, two minutes of a podcast by bluepill prof, or a paragraph or two in MMSLP. I have read all those. I'm talking about details. My main problem is that when I try AM it comes off super arrogant/cocky/condescending. I'm looking for in control, seen it all before, and confident.

Comfort Tests:

Okay, this is weird.

A few years ago, deep in bluepill, I did laundry and messed up some delicates. Cuz I was a dumbass. I own that. Now the family doesn't "trust" me to do laundry. This a common failure pattern.

Screw that. I'm a man. I should at least take care of my own shit.

Yesterday I bought a couple of dollar store laundry baskets (two bucks) and separated my laundry from the rest. I'll at least do my OWN laundry.

Hilarity ensues.

My wife gets very upset at this. Her arguments:

  1. This is yet another separation of me from the family (after all, I eat my own protein shakes at lunch and buy my own bananas for breakfast, and spend my own time during work hours and have my own friends to hang out with a few times a month - AND go to a gym terrible!)

  2. This impacts her and she wasn't consulted. I don't consult her anymore! (If I try to consult her in advance, it's a trick. She'll either control the decision or else I'm a jerk why did I even bother to ask etc)

My frame responses seem pretty similar to this guy:

That is, I don't talk much. My main point of argument is close to broken record - "gee, it seems like you want me more involved in the family's life. It seems we have much bigger problems than me doing my own laundry. There are a lot of other things you could do if you wanted me involved in the family, yet I don't see them happening..."

2 months into MRP, I'm not going to say FU or F Me, or open the door and tell her to use it. The examples I gave of things to get more involved were bringing me into homeschool and outschool, which I asked her to two three weeks ago when i moved back in.

Meta: HOLY SHIT MAN, she is blowing up and crying because I started doing my own laundry without her permission.

Then things get weird.

About halfway through this process she starts crying. I try to comfort her twice. Each time, she physically swats me away, and tells me to back off. The second time, I hold the hug for two seconds and she gets strongly aggressive.

Wife has a black belt in a martial art, carries concealed, and has trust issues. When she says to back off, I think I'll back off.

So this seems like a comfort test AND she is acting like she has zero attraction to me at all, in fact does not trust me.

I think this is a bigger problem than standard MRP doctrine. (No serious touching for multiple years involved here).

I know a lot of MRP advice would be to next her. I have some sympathy because the latest delivery was really hard, she went through something like postpartum depression, childhood issues, etc. I do recognize divorce as an option at this point.

This AM she texts me it isn't about the laundry, it is that I am changing things that impact her w/o consideration and because of that it shows that I don't care what she thinks.

Seriously considering telling her in person: You're right, I don't care what you think about the laundry.

Holy cow, she just texted me that I "can't go about your own life ignoring the people around you w/o concern and say you love them."

Wife has been verbally abusive and out of control for years, while increasingly controlling every area of her life. She GRABBED the reigns and I let her. She controls SO MUCH of the family now, I hold on to finances, cars, home repair. This isolations is not by my choice. I held on because I care about the kids&family&wife.

Didn't intend to victim puke there, but the incongruence is staggering.

Next Steps:

I have no plan to respond to this. At this point, maybe STFU would be best - going back to first question, AM links might help.
