What would be the right path if it were one?
A lot of guys get it wrong. They'll tell you that you need to blend Alpha with Beta, and that comfort tests can be handled with Beta. There's only Alpha.
There are a million ways to 'handle' it, but in reality, is the only way is to internalize what it means to be Alpha.
My wife asked me the same question, and I answered her point-blank, "Fuck yeah there are."
When she hits me with the occasional comfort test, I reiterate "the future is in your hands, not mine." While holding out my hand out metaphorically. Comfort tests are about her feeling like there's no place for her. It's ok to let her know there's a place, but that it comes with performance.
But, and it's a big one, I don't get swayed by her feelings. If she's feeling like a harpy or a cunt, I have better things to do than to try and get her calm. If she's seeking comfort, maybe my actions caused it, and she needs reinforcement. But maybe she caused it, and again her path to success should be shown.
If my wife came to me complaining about being fat, I'd give her support, not enable her. You have every right to tell her, "Hey you're fat. Fix your shit, or I'll find your replacement". Be a dick, be nice, it's all up to you because even if you fuck it up completely, you don't care because the stay plan is the go plan.
Remember, you want a wife who is hot and matches your SMV. It's up to the current one if she keeps the job.
