Posting here since it turned out to be a shit FR. Questions at the bottom.

Origional MRP Post

Picked up my wife last night from school, and started by asking her how her day was. She had started her day giving a classmate a ride before I woke up, and had told me the story before I left for school. So now she starts telling me about the same story. She seems happy and we're joking around a bit as well. It goes on for a few minutes until I realize that she's not telling me anything she didn't tell me earlier. So I tell her that she's already told me all this before, and she ignores this and continues the story anyways. I decide that this is a hill I'm going to die on, and the following ensues.. (For context, I've always had a problem with her repeating stories to me. It gets annoying and feels like she's using me as an emotional tampon.)

As she's telling the story I'm disingaging and start just focusing on driving. She starts to notice and asks me if I'm feeling ok. Her mood starts to shift to be more pensive. She tries to get a response from me, something along lines of 'Can you believe it?' I look her in the eyes, hold and don't say anything. She asks me if I'm feeling ok, and I just say, "Yes, I'm fine." At this she makes a comment that if I'm going to act like this she's done. Until we get home she's on her phone and ignoring me. This lasts until we've picked up our fried chicken and get home.

We get home and she sets up the table in front of the TV for one. Usually she's very insistant one doing everything together. I don't say anything and start making me a salad (I had a lot of chilie for lunch and needed some greens/balanced diet). I ask her if she wants any and she offers a cold no. We eat in silence. After I finish my salad, halfway thru the episode, I get up and start getting ready to go to the store. She starts trying to 'talk' to me, asking if I'm ok, and trying to get a response. I basically use STFU and don't talk much, just tell her I have stuff I need to do. The only thing I really remember from this part was her asking me why I had a 'mood change' in the car, but she follows it up imidiately with a few statements that define frame and what our moods were. I ignore this question because I'm not going to answer a question she seems to already have made up her mind about. The talking goes on for a few minutes until I'm ready to pull out on my bike. STFU. This is when she 'gets a call on her phone' (she mysteriously always gets a call from a concerned friend every time we fight lol) I can tell she's getting ready to leave. She drops, "I'll see you tomorrow" and then hits the garage door button. At this point, I'll bite. This part is out of the ordinary. I dismount, and go thru the front door.

Me "Are you not coming home tonight?"

Her "Oh, I thought you weren't coming home tonight..." She talked for a few sentences at what used to get a DEER type response from me. I've not seen this type of talk in a while.

Me "Thats cool, Are you not coming home tonight?"

Her "Ya I am, are you ok?"

Me "Ok, thanks. Let me know if you change your mind and decide you're not coming home."

This ends with me leaving to go take care of my to-do list. I don't see her until she comes home, she wakes me up coming in, but I'm tired and so I pretend to be asleep.

This morning I wake up, she stays in bed (unusual). I go about my routine and eventually she wakes up, she seems to be intentionally lagging behind me 15 min. While I'm doing laundry ('Her job') she asks me if I need help. I look her in the eyes, pause, say 'No' and continue working. She says, "fine" and pouts off.

Finally before I'm about to leave, I'm finishing my coffee on the couch and ask her, 'Are we going to talk?"

Her: 'What'

Me: 'If your ready to talk if you want to have a mature conversation' We have a bit of a back and forth as she joins me on the couch.

Her: 'Why did you stop talking to me in the car'

Me: 'I asked you how your day was, and you started telling me a story you told me earlier. I mentioned to you that you were repeating yourself and you ignored me. Because you were repeating yourself, I lost interest.'

Her: Some justifications, and talking about her side of the story. I disregarded most of this because I've already said what I needed to say and I'm done with this part of the convo. Then she asks me, "Why didn't you tell me last night when I asked you?"

Me: 'Because when you asked, you followed it with a bunch of statements. In the future, if you want an answer to a question, just ask the question and shut up.'

Her: She give me some flak for that, and then starts telling me how she's worried about me. She tells me I 'change moods' a lot and accuses me of being bi-polar.

Me: 'It seems that you keep wanting to find something wrong with me, you keep asking if I'm ok and now I'm bipolar? Get real'

Her: 'Thats an intersting take, are we done here?'

Me: 'I've said all I wanted to say'

Then it ends and she magically gets another call from another concerned friend. Imagine my shock! lol I leave for work.

I'm divided on if what I did counts as DEER, I did explain some stuff. But I feel like it wasn't because I just said what I had a burden to say and was OI on how she took it. She was still bitchy and pouty when I left, and probably still is. I'd love to hear what y'all take on this is. I'm sure this isn't the end of the shit testing, see my recent OYS for why I think that, but being able to respond this way is new for me and I want to know if I'm fucking this up at all.

End origional post

From comments on the origional post it seems I overreacted. My goals in the interaction was to get it accross to her that I don't like hearing the same story twice. It blew up, I feel like because she overreacted. If she would have simply asked me why I stopped being interested I could have told her and we could have pickup up where we left off. I wasn't butthurt at the time and even tried to pick up the convo after. How could I have got my point across better?

Also, what is a good way to handle her behavior. I thought it was delving into shit testing because she seemed to get bitchy in the car. Was it a comfort test? Am I overthinking it? This is a repeating theme where she gets pouty, puts the blame on me, and then acts generally bitchy for some time whenever I try to assertmyself (hence why I think shit test).

I'm also going to remove the [FR] since I'm posting here.
