I'd lose a little of fat, get a modern faded haircut, wear something cool like the clothes you see chads wearing in instagram, take some candid pictures while doing some fun activities, at a pool/beach, with animals, playing a game or at a party with friends. Smile.

The flushed cheeks aren’t a super good look unless you have low body fat. On a thin guy it reads bracing, on a bigger/average guy it reads “fat guy overexerting and out of breath” OR alcoholic (red and puffy).

But mostly, the picture looks excessively thought out for what it is. And your face even reads that’s you’re embarrassed about taking such a serious selfie. Get dressed up a little nicer, go out with other people, and ask them to take action shots of you that day or night. Then pick the best. OR get dressed up, go to a good background, and fully commit to a posed shot.

Posed but trying to look like a casual action shot looks lame and try-hard.

This isn’t remotely my sub I just lurk, but it seemed like you dudes were missing the point on what makes it bad.

Edit: IMO, in an ideal pic for you, you should be smiling. Work on a devilish smile not a giddy weak one. I think it’s extremely hard to pull off a serious face without a serious brow and jawline. Work with what you’ve got. If this is against some other TRP ideas, I defer.

Also, no, you aren’t ugly. But your looks are neutral so you need to convey some personality in your pic and bio.

Look, there's absolutely Zero things wrong with your looks. You need to work on your frame. It sounds like you're lacking confidence. Back several years ago I was really fat. I had great confidence and my game was tight. I pulled hot chicks and got laid a ton. Now my stamina sucked because I would get winded fucking, but that's not the point.

you need to lose some bodyfat
your face is flushed/childlike, some chicks don't like that, some will; consider a beard (and lower BF will chisel your face)
I assume this is not your normal "let's meet chicks outfit" as you look homeless.
you're not tiny, so start lifting so you maintain your shoulders and grow them while you get rid of that belly you're hiding with that jacket.

Looking at this, what can you tell about the person there? Whats the story? It's milquetoast... I wouldn't know if this was a stock photo inside a picture frame at a store or an algorithm.

This is most likely why random people on the internet were downvoting it so harshly, it's just boring.

Go check out some photo essays to see what you can do in terms of framing and composition, add a few elements of interest in there and it looks way different

Youre a decent looking guy. I would change your style, grow out facial hair, change haircut a bit, and lose some bodyfat(will lean out your face). Focus on taking more interesting(and more edgy) photos. That photo makes you look like a "nice guy" imo.

What score did you get on Photofeeler? I've been there and know how you feel, but a lot of good advice given to you already.

I got similar advice too, and made adjustments to boost my scores. My old photos I scored 3.5-5.5, but I was able to get a few new photos to bump up the score to 6.5-8.5 for F29< voters. My results on Tinder increased too, so just know there's definitely ways to improve.
