We can't say for certain what your friend is doing, but in general, naturals:

Have confidence, justified or not. When they're interacting with others, they're not self conscious, they're not living "in their head". They interact intuitively and naturally.
Are outgoing. Not being inwardly focused, they pay attention to those around them and tend to be always connecting with others in some way.
Have low investment. Because of their confidence and positive experiences, they tend to be unconcerned about the outcome of any given interaction. They're not trying, winning, losing, passing, or failing. Nothing they do is calculated to impress, or win approval.

Women tend to be very sensitive to this underlying psychology. They generally can't help but find it attractive.

Well, this. He is most likely not writing on the internet and doing research about betterment, self esteem, women, PUA, and stuff. He most likely just doesn't think about all that, and just goes out and is who he is.

You know us humans are quite terrible sexual beings with our consciousness, and ways to over-think what should be elemental, heck, fundamental for survival. You never see a dog write on an online forum, yet he just goes out there on the streets and tries his luck in humping them bitches.

I've met extremely simple minded people who rock at picking up chicks because they don't think about it, they just do it. They have an impulse, an emotion, and they follow it. 'Smart' people try to resonate all the possible outcomes, and that will freeze you and make you a good candidate for a Darwin award.

The best thing you can do is try. The worst thing is to do nothing.

Either that or he doesn't admit he is one of us (one of us! one of us!)
