First suggestion: Wear something that makes YOU feel bold and masculine, not necessarily what you think she’ll like. The important component of scent is that it makes you memorable. She’ll associate you with a certain fragrance.

A few recommendations.

Prada Carbon. Some says it’s like a smoother version of Sauvage. I don’t think it’s that similar, I actually think it smells a lot better
Bleu de Chanel EDP
Aqua di Gio Profumo
Bvlgari Man in Black
Dior Fahrenheit (This is if you want to be extremely bold, take me or leave me kind of fragrance, smells a little like gasoline)

If you want to go safe/crowd pleasing, you can’t go wrong with Carbon or Bleu De Chanel

My girlfriend’s favorite, which I don’t really care for is Mont Blanc Legend. To me it smells like an Abercrombie and Fitch store from the early 2000’s, but women seem to enjoy that scent

I'm guessing that you're just looking for a simple suggestion that's nothing special and will generally be liked by anyone, in that case: Sauvage by Dior

I also read Chanel De Bleu. These are the top 5 complimented fragrances. They smell heavenly and get compliments by both sexes. I own the first 4 and can verify.

This is my jam.

Club de Nuit Intense Man (black bottle) unique smell clone of the 400 Creed Aventus. They smell identical on the dry down. I personally just wear this since it works year round. Cost: 30 bucks.
Club de nuit man. Clear bottle. Creamier 1 million. Cost: 24 bucks.
Acqua Di Gio Profumo. Pricey, but awesome.
Armani Code Profumo or Absolu.
Versace Light Blue.

Also: 3-5 sprays max. One behind each ear, one on the back of the neck, and both sides of neck. The amount of sprays depends on if fragrance is stronger. Don't rub it with wrists, just spray and leave it out there.

I am heavily into frags and have tried many different ones. Of late I have only been into niche high-end stuff which at least for me personally is extremely expensive and hurts my wallet. The reason I bring up the expensive ones is coz I have a real love for the frags and the mass-produced designer ones do not stand a chance when compared to the higher-end segment that uses mostly natural oils and have a concentration. (up to 70% and higher natural compared to 3% in designer ones) I can feel the difference and I love it and the automatically I think the girls would go crazy too!! Well guess what, that's wrong!!

Most girls like frags which is guys will consider cheap and bottom of the barrel.

So the ones that have given me SUCCESS are

Club de nuit intense man- ALWAYS AND EVERYTIME (PERIOD. WEAR IT AND GET GIRLS)
La nuit de l'homme
Dua frags Forture. which is a copy of Xerjoff Naxos ($350+ here in Australia). I have both and Dua is much much better.
Dior Sauvage I hate it but has had somewhat success.

I sometimes choose based on what I'm doing or what I'm wearing.

Bars/dark clothes -> musky (Yves Saint Laurent etc)

Beach/light bright clothes -> light fresh scent ( dolce blue or aqua do Gio)

I think Hugo boss is a great cologne that is also quite versatile.

Depends man , on your price tag. I would look into fragrances for Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter.

Start with Spring/Summer since these are the seasons now

3-5 one for each season and one for date nights gives you a total of 4 or 5. Certain smells don’t work well in certain seasons and temps.

And you don’t want to wear the same fragrance all the time. It becomes stale at a point, you want flexibility.

Gradually move up don’t buy all at once unless you can and have the finances.

A little girls perfume on the collar with your cologne. When she asks why you smell like that just kinda laugh and act like you don’t know what she’s talking about. Then be like “ohhhhhh, yeahhh. I remember now!”. Or “ah yes, I took blah blah blah (a friend) to get food earlier.” She’ll think you have another girl on the list of many and have to work harder

So I have basic Gillette aftershave gel.

Then for cologne I have three types that I alternate between depending on occasion, whom I am with or anticipating being with, or what impression I want to make. Oh and I have a matched scent body wash so it doesn’t conflict with the aftershave. Again that is base general man scent.

All three I have come to use for many years are Gucci. They have a great range in the mens scents that give you options and are not overwhelming. The basic por homme is my everyday man smell. It’s straightforward and borderline musky. Then the other two are the lighter versions and they are subtly sweeter and a lot sweeter. The second my girl loves. It is my normal going out at night scent that is a bit sweeter and tangy. Women’s sense of smell is much more acute than ours. I wore it the night we first met and from them until present she will nuzzle into my chest where the scent is strongest. And while she has never said anything I have often caught her breathing in deep through her nose - scenting me - and she always settles in deeper when she does this.

The last is very light but sweet. It is my attention getter that I use when I used to go out with a specific idea of scoring a woman for the night. It is very different from most mens scents. And very effective.

my favourites are dior sauvage, dior dune, chanel bleu or paco rabanne invictus. downside of both sauvage and bleu are they are worn by every fboy and you will smell like every womens ex. Dune is less common and has got by far the most compliment of any cologne i’ve ever worn. Invictus is great but more on the expensive side. And finally i find Tommy Hilfiger’s range the best for budget department store scents.

Try the scent on yourself before you purchase; Perfumes/colognes smell differently on various people. It has do do with your natural scent, pH balance of your skin, hormones/pheromones, etc
