can you be friends with a girl?
Yup, close to 50% of my friends are girls these days.
do those guys want to be friends with you?
I don't think so.
I tend to get along better with males than females.
You may get along equally bad with everyone. Guys just act this way because they want to fuck you.

It can happen but most guys, especially single ones probably aren't going to be into that. Especially because so many guys are desperate and they see any girl willing to talk to them as their big opportunity to finally get laid
[–]Canadian-Seductioner 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is exactly it.

I think you get along badly with guys and girls, but some guys are interested in you, so you think you get along well with them

If you don’t wanna be alone, you should find yourself a boyfriend not a male friend. Males will always want something more unless they are gay, they will always hope to get you to bed. If you want a close friendship with a guy, you might find it easier to get a gay male friend.
Hetero males who spend time too much with a girl platonically always sooner or later develop romantic feelings, it’s not a question of if, it’s a question of when, even if they say they are fine with being just friends initially.
If a guy wanted to spend so much time close to one girl, he would just get a girlfriend. There is no point for the guy to be that close with a female friend when he could just easily get a girlfriend and have sex too.

I mean that’s why men have a penis. Those hormones want us to reproduce with anyone feminine enough for our preferences. Enough time and it really starts to push us.

My best friend is a gay male actually, but since moving back home I see him a lot less. I get the logic, but I don’t want to have to beware of being friends with a straight guy. But that just might be how it is i guess

You can be friends with a straight male but you have to set clear boundaries from the onset and you have to make a concerted effort to be just a friend. Long ago I tried to be that type of friend until she used me in an attempt to triangulate me in a love triangle, turns out she was a covert narcissist. I had to give her the heave-ho. I’ve had other platonic friendships w females, no problems. Stay within the boundaries and don’t cross the line. Be firm and clear - the issue is you are seeking validation from these guys, they are seeking something else but their behavior is a bit manipulative under false pretenses of hanging out. You need to be more selective on who you hang out with.

No. Men and women are not friends.
People on here who like to say otherwise are typically still in highschool or maybe college (young) and they confuse intermingling social groups of males and females as friends.

College made me stupid. Thankfully I grew up. “Just Friends” is a term I violently run from.

Adult male here - past college. Mature people can and do have friends of both sexes without the need to want to have anything more than a platonic relationship.
[–]cache_bag 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is the correct answer. Operative word is "mature" people.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No. It’s virtually impossible because the issue if sex always gets in the way.

I have several platonic female friends, yes. The reason most guys can't be friends with girls though is because they struggle getting girls in general so if a girl is giving them more attention than normal, they see them as a potential romantic partner.
To have guy friends, you need to focus on guys who are secure in themselves already to the point where they understand you're just friends. It's usually guys who get lots of girls who fit this bill because even if you say no to them romantically, it won't bother them because they know they have other options. Ideally, have girlfriends you can introduce them to or be a wingwoman for them on nights out and you're golden.

I'm platonic friends with a few girls and got no interest in changing that. If you have any friends who are couples they might be more interested in being platonic or just guys who are in relationships if they are decent people

Male here, I have a female friend, really quite close friend. I f-up and fell for her, realized what the circumstances in my life were that caused it and have been working on those issues to resolve them. This friend is so important in my life that I am willing to fix personal issues to keep her in my life. I don’t think it’s possible for me to not have feelings for her but I respect her so much that I won’t allow those feelings interfere with our relationship. It’s possible to be “friends” but it’s work, the question is who is willing to do the work.

Nah. The boiz understand me better. The boiz are less drama, and don’t expect me to be a therapist. The boiz have similar interests and hobbies. Like how can I have a conversation about things I don’t care about? Best part is the boiz never have underlying agendas.

simplest answer
a younger me (before I was 25), maybe no, my hormones rules me
current me (28), surely yes and have several lady friends I have no romantic/sexual interest in

I’ve never been just friends with a girl tbh. Either they like me or I like them or they are dating one of my friends so we don’t acknowledge eachother in that way.

Depends on if you both want to date/fuck
[–]SwimComfortable7465 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Try more group hangouts or clubs. But if you insist on 1 on 1 bonding, do something you both enjoy

can you be just friends with a girl?
Yes, depending on what you mean by “just” friends.
I have female friends in the past but I notice its way easier when I'm seeing someone. Even if I treat them exactly as a male friend, I always get a sense they think i'm hitting on them or they act like an entitled female around me. If you want male friends, first, pick friends with smart men. Smart men have no problem being friends with women. Secondly, you have to talk to men logically. Cant flirt or project your sexuality around them.

Yeah, if I’m not attracted to her. But if I’m attracted, I have a mission. If she’s not really attractive to me, then yeah I can be her friend. Even she attractive, in the true essence of my core, I‘ll be trying to gain her.
Fortunately this is how I think, I don’t play games with what I truly want.
You can, but the closer and more intimate you become, the more it is probable that one of you catch some feelings or some kind of sexual frustration.

You can be friends but If they’re straight they’ve probably Atleast thought about sleeping with you
