IMHO it sounds like u went from 0-100. Girl: “hey” You: “I like you!” Now it probably didn’t go that way but you startled her. Her immediate reaction was no. Now as to stay high value…she doesn’t matter. Stay on your purpose/grind and in that abundance mindset. Good luck.

That’s not what the problem is. You feel like she was flirting, cool. Now your job is to find out if she was actually flirting and if she’s even into you a little bit. From there your able to “game” her. I honestly feel like she might’ve been interested but you going 0-100mph really blew it up. Take it as a lesson, get better and move on.

I appreciate the compliment. I’m just trying to make sense of the scenario/story here. Personally that chick is done to me 🤷🏾♂️. If she reverts to being flirty and shit again I’d say play it cool and make her work for it. I know some girls love to chase it, if your able to play it like that do it if not…she can kick rocks
[–]slumxl0rd87 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed. You floundering around is only going to make you look even beta. Fuck her. Move on. Keep your chin high, shoulders back, stand up straight and be confident. Don’t cower when she enters the room. Keep it moving. But definitely feel it out next time. You escalated too quickly.
[–]blazedosan002 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's how it goes buddy, it's quite hard to decipher if a girl is actually flirting The good thing is you expressed your feelings, just be cool around her and act as nothing had happened
[–]theskptc 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, exactly how I felt when I read it.
[–]K_Sleight 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Drown the awkward in normality. Ignore any discomfort she seems to prohect, and maintain indifference, pretend that everything is perfectly normal. She'll eventually figure herself out.
[–]slaybrownbeast 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
DO NOT apologize if you DIDNT do anything wrong. It makes you weak,
There is nothing unlawful and immoral about you telling you like her.
Instead, you should have just told her" I understand you said no. I hope we can be professional and friendly going forward." But DONT apologize.
[–]slaybrownbeast 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
As of today i still get the sense she feels awkward around me. She makes eye contact with me everyday but never says anything. She's always acting goofy and trying to get other guys attention when I'm near her.
Please do not expend your energy into sensing, deducing and contemplating on how she 'feels' or 'acts'. It is none of your business. Focus on your life, not her feelings. She is nobody to you
[–]Lockybrah666 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You done everything right, all you need to do is just keep at you, an let her roll her way, if you want to step it up, maybe get a woman you know pick you up from work, an or her ask for you when she gets there an words will travel that a woman came for you, if she see maybe she will move on in her own way, it's worked for me before

Ignore her

[–]Serenatadeputeadas -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It works, and you like her. After ignoring her, and getting her attention back, play her game until she falls and then make your moves. But you need to play man
[–]-Jake-27- 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Don’t play games like that. Best to move on, plenty of other people out there.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
[–]-Jake-27- 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The other commenter said to play her game until she falls and I was just saying that’s a bad idea.
[–]blackstonechery 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Get over it and move on. Demonstrating confidence is your best friend. Go on some dates with other girls.
[–]theskptc 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, letting her see that you are not bothered by it and have already moved on is the best way to go. No need to ignore her, but also no need to keep approaching her.
The damage of saying you like her too fast is already done, I would advice to not mentioning it again in the future (it will only remind her). Don't even say things like you weren't drunk or anything, just accept the response and move on.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
[–]blackstonechery 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's why you don't date coworkers. I liked to use that mentality in the past to help get me over it.
"It never would have worked out because we're coworkers"
Say it until you believe it. If you're just trying to sleep with her then you need to revaluate your emotions.
[–]Serenatadeputeadas 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If you move on, but for real, you'll get her attention back. Now, consider that she's not looking for anything serious, to me she seem like the kind of a capricious girl who is looking for attention anywhere, so if that's what your looking for, then go for it, but she's only playing.
[–]VorpalPaperclip 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Stop trying to label yourself as a beta or high value man and then applying that label on yourself for others. Just knock that crap off. Your a human being, not a character in some distopaDisney world of made up dating terms.
You liked someone, took that risk and got hurt. Its embarrassing. That's fine.
Get yourself through your grief and laugh at yourself and just smile when you see her and be professional.
[–]sillieidiot 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I know everyone says to ignore her. But if you don't want to, then act indifferent around her. Say hi to her when you see her, but don't hover around. Act like nothing ever happened and go about your business. Go be social with the other girls in your workplace. If she's interested in you, then she will come around again, then this time don't go 0-100 lol If she doesn't, then who cares. The fact that you are trying to get her attention (from what I read in the comments) is what makes you look weaker.
[–]alexandhisworld 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I would stop believing that she thinks about you as much as you think she does. You are likely not a central character in her story, and aren’t the reason for her actions (flirting, eye contact, etc). She is likely mildly uncomfortable, especially given the ongoing nature of this. That’s normal. She is not likely analyzing every one of yours moves.
Be a normal person and be kind. Let it just progress, just as your initial friendship did
Also there’s no such thing as beta or alphas. Don’t restrain yourself to fake roles
[–]Motor-Ice-4439 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't focus on this girl. Remain professional, serious, confident, and kind. Act normally around her, even if she isn't. Don't shit where you eat, work relationships are just that. Get a hobby that puts you in a position where you're around and interacting with women that have similar interests. I recommend ballroom dancing because it is intimate and will improve your confidence in approaching women. If you're around enough reasonably attractive women who love interacting with you, then you will have an abundance mindset. Don't chase women, make them chase you.
[–]Representative-Camp2 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (37 children) | Copy Link
firstly I'm glad that you know you have to become a high value man in order to get over her.
try doing new stuff, go out, socialize with new people and also with your colleagues, make yourself more interesting by have fun in your life and your vibe will change which will later lead to her noticing the change and might even want to get you back.
... also don't invest too much time into her, that is don't give her a lot of attention coz from what I could decipher she wants attention so if you don't give her that she'll try to get it from you
[–]ThePherdBeve 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link
"Your vibe will change"
Explain how and I'll believe this
[–]Representative-Camp2 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link
when you try and do fun exciting stuff especially things that you like without relying on someone else for that dopamine hit, you start making your life interesting, you know that your happiness is in your control that mindset leads to behavior change.
[–]ThePherdBeve 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link
How does it lead to behavior change and what is the behavior change?
[–]Representative-Camp2 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link
you see your behavior is linked to your mindset, imagine you're a guy who stays inside his house and does nothing all day, you have nothing to say when someone asks "what you did last week?" but if you're a guy who let's say has a hobby, plays basketball, travels, goes to club, hiking, cooking anything, you have something to offer and they'll know that you have a lot of fun stuff going on in your life and they'll want to be part of that lifestyle. people will love to be around you coz you're interesting and fun
[–]ThePherdBeve 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link
The only thing that changes is you'll have more to talk about?
[–]Representative-Camp2 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link
I'm sorry but I can't elucidate the behavior changes you actually have to get up and do stuff
[–]ThePherdBeve 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link
Why not?
[–]Representative-Camp2 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
your habits build your character
[–]ThePherdBeve 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
That has nothing to do with what we were talking about
[–]Representative-Camp20 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
it does your vibe depends on your character
[–]ThePherdBeve1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
How will I know when I've hit the right "vibe"
it's very subtle you might not notice but others definitely will
If you can't explain it, how will others pick up on it
It is a set of behaviors so it should be explainable.
[–]Representative-Camp21 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
how will others pick up on it
by actually doing it
But how will they be able to pick up on it?
Don't be spiteful now
believe me I'm not it's just that I knew I upgraded my social skills but didn't know that my vibe also did, at first I didn't have much friends mainly because I didn't had much to offer I was stuck at home doing nothing but bingeing series it was later that moment when I started doing what I said, that people started wanting to be a part of my life they started inviting me over and I started having better connections
I don't believe you at all about the vibe dude. Even if it's true, that's meaningless. Didn't I tell you that even when I was out doing stuff people didn't gravitate toward me?
It's not like your body language or social skills immediately change. Mine didn't. And "vibe" is pretty much a meaningless idea that you can't even explain, even though something explainable changed
I just went to the bar and got rejected 3 times, I'm out there trying buddy. It's just luck.
3 TIMES??? I got 13 times and now I'm getting 2-3 dates/hookups each week
Okay well I'm glad for you. I can't do that myself.
That was 3 times tonight.
I have nights I'll ask 10 or more people
Thanks for making me feel like shit
I'm not responsible for how you feel, I don't count how many times I've been rejected coz ik that's inevitable you can't get a date everytime and just in case I still get rejected but not as much as I used to
Okay so you also can't just predict whether I'll be successful or what my vibe will be, bro
I'm sorry, I wanted to believe so hard that you weren't just another drone parroting the same advice... but at the end of the day what you said was all vague and unusable.
And you completely ignored what I said about body language and social skills. Your advice is not a cure, don't pretend like it fucking is.
You're delusional. I never predicted I just stated some habits that has helped me and many people ik
You literally said in an earlier comment that OP's vibe would change. Direct quote: "your life and your vibe will change." You predicted that. I'm not the delusional one here.
If you want to help... what did your interactions with women look like afterward? What were some times you succeeded, and what were the specifics? I can't go off of stuff so vague
Edit: oh good. Yeah having to explain anything in detail, or even backing up something he said was gospel truth, was too hard
[–]Representative-Camp2 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
it's not something you can explain it's something you experience yourself
[–]ThePherdBeve 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It is something you can explain if you described it as a certain "vibe"
And how will I know when I'm experiencing it?
everyone has a different vibe, for me it was I started started going to clubs that made me help socialize with different people it later became a habit and I became more of an outgoing guy, people who knew me before saw those changes, I dint tell them, they just felt my sudden out going behavior
Really?
I did everything you said to do originally in the post, all the way through college. Had good friends, had outgoing behavior, went to a few dance clubs and dance bars and was in DnD groups and did board game clubs and went to parties and made friends in class and met girls and talked to new people all the time...
No hookups. Rejection did sting less, but it didn't get me anywhere.
The vibe didn't actually help.
You can't explain it because it's feel-good advice that doesn't fix shit.
I'm sorry to hear that mate but it didn't worked for me at the beginning either. I had to work on my social skills plus I had good influence who I used to hang around soo even that helped me.
I can understand why you feel the way you're feeling rn I had the same attitude towards these people until I myself experienced it, it's not easy but it's not impossible either
I don't really know exactly what to do to work on my social skills outside what I'm doing, practicing with friends and at bars. It sucks.
I'm glad you made it and are having a good sex life, but I'm here for real specifics and tips
[–]CreeknAndKraken 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It’s likely she is doing that on purpose now she knows you like her.
Act like you don’t care and move on.
[–]CreeknAndKraken 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
There’s no way to know for sure why, but all you can do is to work on being more confident and don’t let her know that it’s bothering you. Act indifferent when she’s around.
[–]Representative-Camp2 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
exactly
[–]Head-Combination-299 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Ignore her. Like she does not exist. And if she passes you, keep looking straight. She sounds like a B- honestly. Flirty and then rude and cold 🥶 in a group. Like…. That’s mean. Let it go. She seems immature so - just be mature and focus on the objective at work. Make the money. If you get a tingling feelings she is looking at you- focus on work and whatever you’re having for lunch.

[–]Head-Combination-299 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Loom for someone who isn’t a game player though. That not cool.
If that’s her way of treating ppl- don’t volunteer yourself for that crap.
“ hell no.” That’s some whack ass stuff.
You could be a friend to her and show her how to be a grown up and include her if it’s organic.
Never hurts to be a friend. But if she is just some hot chick you like cuz she I hot-
Well,,, move on - so many pretty girls. We are everywhere !!!
[–]Head-Combination-299 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Idk I have had so pretty gross males try to kiss me at parties and at work gatherings and I just said, no thank you. And I’ was probably super duper high! Like hella high.
The couple times it happens the dudes were fucking gross. And I never talk badly about ppl to be mean- they had bad hygiene and it was obvious they didn’t brush their teeth or shower regularly… I am kind to ppl and make eye contact and sometimes ppl think I’m flirting.
I’ve never been mean to someone for liking me/
One of the two times the guy was a friend and I gave him a ride to work/ he leaned in and kissed me and it was quick -
And I was mad as f- he never brushes his teeth. I know that morning he did not. I picked him up for work and he just rolled outa bed. When he kissed me- I told him- “ hey , no thanks. I’m not into you that way. You don’t take care of yourself fans I’m not attracted to you. “ He said “ wow you’re fkn rude- why are you so mean to me-?”
I felt he was rude for putting his first moth on mine. But still we were cool after that.
The chick you like is immature. Hope while you are seeking others. Be kind but keep your distance.
[–]Ocasionally_stabby 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The best thing you can do is accept that this opportunity has passed and move on. Only then, will the awkwardness go away and if there is any left when yall interact again it will be on her side.
Also move away from this thinking of "i messed up how do i get get her to give me attention again?" It's not the way you want your frame to be, it makes you needy. Specially since you barely know her and there tons of girls out there. Shift your thinking to this: i went for this girl, my approach was lacking and it didnt work, that's cool i went for what i wanted and learned something from this. Next time i see another girl i like i can apply what i learned.
[–]jwaters0122 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She is your coworker and treat her as such. Whatever she thinks of you is her problem, not yours. Keep everything work related and leave it at that
[–]Alextryingforgrate 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
She is now just a coworker. You can try to be friendly later on and just have regular conversations with her in the lunch room etc. Aside from that just get going back to work and start getting shit done.
[–]Sup3rHD -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Never tell to a girl that you like her
[–]rahhumilovedogs -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Rejection sucks. I asked a girl to marry me and she said NO. lol. I look at it as a good thing as I was kind of infatuated and she was kind of a bitch. F her. Better to try and fail then to not try and never know. You good! Next! Watch what happens when you completely blow her off.
[–]KaleWeekly -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don't say it, show it through flirting, bantering, and kino. Women want a mystery, what fun is it when you just tell her. You're not in middle school anymore.
