However, the let’s just be friends speech should just be a warning sign that you are acting like a faggot, and you need to correct your behavior.
-----This line is money.
[–]InfieldTV7 points 12 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link
Haha thanks man, I respect someone that can appreciate a line like that
[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
While I agree with the overall message of this (I've broken out of the friend zone by accepting this same mentality), I was a offput by your usage of "gay boys" and "faggot". I would reconsider your word choice if you really want this to be taken seriously because your overall message is spot on. I'm far from PC but just making an observation
[–]jjness 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, we as human beings should be above such language.
[–]caesarfecit -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's a good line.
I'm actually working on an idea that's something similar.
Creepiness or Neediness results from you making advances when her attraction to you or her level of rapport with you aren't balanced. Too much attraction, not enough rapport = creep, vice versa = neediness and left uncorrected = friend zone.
The logic behind it is, once an imbalance like that opens up, until you address it, every advance you make without adjusting just makes the problem worse. And often, once you do address it, it's smooth sailing.
Therefore if you either intuit or she drops hints that you're creepin or needing, you should know instinctively how to adjust. Now I just have to fill in the details.
[–]HappyJerk 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How do you adjust?
[–]Dweebl 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Does nobody else think this guy is a total asshole?
[–]InfieldTV14 points 12 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link
Yes I think I am an asshole.
[–]livinglogic 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You give good advice, just drop the stupid 'gayboy' shit, it's ignorant and takes away from you overall argument.
[–]Dweebl -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks for the honesty :D Not saying that it was bad advice.

Yes dude, it in fact seems that you were used as a rebound. She was in a one-itis situation so she fucked you and more than likely some other dudes to snap out of it. Just accept the fwb status that she is offering and chill bro.

Maybe she just doesn't want to get caught up in anything. I know when I come out of a long term, or semi long term relationship getting close to someone is the last thing I want to do. Not because I am hurting, but it is a great time to go out, meet new people, try new activities, try find a new hobby, all things people can get in the way of. I wouldn't take it to personally. I also wouldn't put to much effort into a person who is not putting effort into me. Go along the the lines of the Brad Pitt thinking method thing (if you don't understand that I'll try find a link). If I have a hangover, but I want to hang out, I will see you. So I always apply that thinking to someone else.
[–]WorstOfThem 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Brad Pitt method?

If you still want her, you need to bait her with playful teases, pushes and takeaways, which is a topic I'm working on in several of my discussions. Click on my name and join in one of the discussions, and in our search for how to generate attraction with someone you already know.

I assume that OP bossed this girl around with a hint of humor, the sound of a smile? Charming insistance? The way I read that, I would have told him to fuck directly off. Nobody puts baby in a corner.
EDIT: That being said, I think this is good advice. You can only be friendzoned if you agree to that arrangement. Well done, OP.
[–]ChicsKill 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is so true. It's all attitude. I had a girl I met a while back where I acted too much like a fag. I was not assertive enough, when we went out she talked about her troubles with her on and off BF..anyway you can imagine that I didnt get anywhere and was in the friend zone.
I took a break from her and readjusted..came back weeks later and was my normal self. I had nothing to lose at this point. I'd see her out and be physical, make fun of her a little and she loved it. Still, I didnt get sucked into any feelings, I just went on my business.
Now she has been out with me more and more..asks me to do stuff, holds my hand, tells her GFs I want to fuck her, and sneaks kisses when her GFs are not looking.
It hit home to read this, because she texted me today, said she was going to have a talk with her BF and then after she wanted to go out with me and get drunk.
The best part is that I really don't have high hopes or that weak feeling that you get when you start being soft. I am just going with it - whatever happens is cool.
So yes, you can get out of the zone, but it's not even about that to me. It's about being assertive with girls and not being soft. Some girls may never see you as a guy they want to screw, but others will change their minds because your needy behavior is gone and your animal instincts are back.
Really good point about just wanting to talk to the girl instead of have sex. That nailed it right there. I think this is where many guys blow it.

To all those that were offended by my use of gayboys and faggot: I find it amusing that you were offended by those terms which were not even used in a deragatory context towards actual homosexuals, but have no bones to pick about my general talking down to women and controlling them. Makes you look like hypocrites.
My advice is that you just take the article for what it is and quit trying to imply I'm a homophobe.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Good point. So easily offended.
[–]YetzirahToAhssiah 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'd say this works in maybe 1% of "friend zone" occurences.
If she says you're just a friend, not much you say will convince her otherwise.
[–]ianthegreat 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Is it weird that I noticed that the last picture on that page is of the Detroit Lions quarter back Matthew Stafford?
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
There's no friend zone...there's "you're not an attractive guy to her" soon.
If you're attractive enough your female friends will want to bang you
[–]livinglogic 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If you project confidence and take care of yourself, you can be attractive no matter what your self-perceived failings.
[–]StoicGentleman -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Good point. If you have self-percieved failings (that you are not comfortable with), then you're probably not projecting confidence. Taking care of yourself is the most important step towards fixing that.
[–]livinglogic -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly, and it's the number one thing that we try to focus on in /r/seduction... bettering one's self for the sake of being confident and happy. Actually picking up and getting laid and seducing can only come after that first step has been achieved.
[–]StoicGentleman -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah. Focusing on getting laid is actually counterproductive. If you don't take those steps to bettering yourself you still won't be happy or fulfilled.
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Homophobic.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Nope. You can speak like that and not be homophobic. I'm another individual who speaks that way and is not homophobic whatsoever.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I suppose I can agree with that.
This guy is waaaay overcompensating, though. We get it, InfieldTV. You're super edgy.
[–]livinglogic 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link
No. That's bullshit. Using homophobic slurs may not mean that you're homophic per se, but it shows your disregard for homosexuality and your association of less than alpha men as being gay. I know gay men that are alpha as fuck, and I know straight men whose wives are the leaders in their marriage. It's a false association and dated stereotype, time to grow up.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Just because a stereotype is dated does not mean that the stereotype isn't true.
A stereotype exists due to the majority of a group's actions. "Alpha" men are a minority of gay men.
[–]livinglogic 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
If this logic follows, then you're the stereotype of an ignorant 19 year old frat boy wannabe who fears being associated with less alpha men, a concern that stems from his own mistrust in his sexuality. So in order to overcome this, he calls others gayboys and uses other homophobic slurs while acting overly macho, in a misguided and utterly futile attempt to hide his own questioning of his sexuality, or at least, make up for his own self-perceived inadequacies. He justifies this by saying he's not homophobic, yet at the same time associates the same stereotypical (and verifiably false) weaknesses society tells him are typical of gay men.
So, by your logic, your use of that language indicates that you're overcompensating on your 'alpha masculinity' because you yourself are afraid of embodying the characteristics you fear.
So I reiterate what I wrote above: grow up.
Well, considering I don't give a fuck if you stereotype me incorrectly, I don't really care! :D

The majority of my traffic doesn't come from Reddit, but either way so what? If it brings people something valuable then I'm happy.
