Good stuff.

This is what's helped me on my journey in Game. I also took style more seriously lately and started to dress punk. I never had a style. I use to be so shy and couldn't have a conversation with a girl at all. I did approach in college and got lucky twice. I didn't know WTF I was doing but, I knew that they both liked me cause they kept smiling at me from afar. Now I catch girls just staring and then I stare back tell they look away. This is how you show confidence from the beginning of the interaction. I also give unexpected eye-contact during a conversation. I'll do it instantly even if I'm ordering something at a restaurant. The girl starts giggling and smiling.
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Style is so underrated.. A good style will GIVE you more opportunities but if you don't have the balls to open than it doesn't matter.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
True. It does GIVE you more opportunities so why not maximize your results ? It's all about maximizing your results to your fullest potential.
[–]str8teballin03 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Facts, Being result driven will kill your game or night. I just got out of a 5 year relationship and used to get furious every time a woman rejected me. It wasnt till recent that I got comfortable with the fact that not every woman will like my approach, and will reject me. Once I got comfortable with rejection and awkward moments thatd when I started to become more successful with women and now I am going on dates 2-3 days a week.

Don't drink when you go out
Where are you going out then? I also hit rock bottom (5+ years for me. Divorce, etc) and put some serious work on myself. I'm well socialized, live in a large city and have a very fun and attractive friend circle. When we see a guy at the bar, not drinking and actively hitting on girls it screams creep. My female friends will clown that guy so hard he'll loose all social value and have to move locations. I've seen it countless times. Do you have friends who you're with that are drinking and having fun? If not, where do you go at night to hit on women but not distinguish yourself in a bad way? Asking because I end up spending way too much money on alcohol (even 1-3drinks adds up at 7-10$ each). Thanks
[–]ProfitisAlethia 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think the OP was trying to get across was that you shouldn't be using alcohol as a crutch, and that you should use it in moderation.
If you're going out to bars solo 4 nights a week with the intention of doing approaches, you shouldn't be getting drunk every one of those nights. But if you're at a club with a group of friends to have a good time and you see a girl you would like to approach, there's nothing wrong with that.
[–]SwoleBuddha 25 points26 points27 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I never had a problem with anyone thinking I was creepy for not drinking. If someone would ask why I'm not drinking I would either say I already had a couple beers earlier, or I wasn't drinking tonight, or I would tell her if she partied as much as me she would need to slow her roll occasionally too.
Smooth lines!!!
[–]Supersquigi 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Best you can do is follow what recovering alcoholic do and carry around a non alcoholic mix drink like Seltzer and lime or whatever.
[–]Snakehead004 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've been trying to do this lately. Thanks for the reinforcement. Alcohol is definitely more of a crutch than anything for game.

I'd adapt that jsut a bit. Going out to meet people and have fun while sober is totally cool. I've seen too many guys who are only interested in meeting women to sleep with. That in itself is creepy.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Great post! Question for you, so at what point should a guy set dating aside to focus on his life and at what point should he just do both?
This has been confusing me lately. I'm not overly satisfied with where my life is. At first I thought dating is the missing piece, so I dived into the game.. I took a lot of rejections but after a recent success.. I began to question if dating is the missing piece.
[–]SwoleBuddha 14 points15 points16 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think before getting into game every guy should ask himself why anyone would want to date him. If you struggle to come up with an answer then it's probably best to figure out some of the other stuff in your life first.
[–]ThisPlaceIsNiice 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Good stuff, only one thing I don't like:
Telling someone to "just have an abundance mentality" or "just be confident" is like telling a poor person to "just have money". It's just not how it works. You grow confident in your dating skills by experiencing success in dating and you get an abundance mentality by having an abundance of women available (a direct result of effort combined with success). It's just not helpful to tell someone that they need to have something they only get by succeeding in order to succeed. Catch 22s suck. Focus on the other points instead.

I'd only say that it's not necessary to be completely dry when one goes out. Drinking socially is fine, but getting drunk is when it becomes a problem.
If one can't drink without getting "wasted," then that's a whole different issue.
There's nothing wrong with nursing a drink, etc. It's not expensive to grab a cheap beer, etc. Simply having a drink in your hand, even if it's the same drink for 2 hours, helps one plug in, otherwise it's possible to get pegged as taking advantage of drunk girls on an uneven playing field.
[–]SwoleBuddha 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Absolutely right, but if you start going out a lot it becomes a money issue for most budgets. It wasn't unusual for me to go out 5 nights a week at my peak. Even 1 beer each night gets expensive at that level of frequency.
[–]Moderatorrecyclablebanthas 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean.....
Anyway, there are social events that offer a little more bang for one's buck, without drinking required. Often they involve a cover, but there are often also ways to get involved and help out with events, to where volunteering offers free admission.
Like hash running, couchsurfing meets, social partner dancing like Salsa, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, Meet-up, or a group/event found via Facebook search......
There's more out there than just bars or clubs. A lot of far better things.
[–]Alex_O7 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
General stuff, i personally don't agree with the game mantra "Don't drink when you go out". It turn out to be super social awkward in most of the situations if you go out and don't drink. And with this i'm not saying that a guy should get drunk before talking to a girl. But just a drink or two should be fine and could really be a boost to your social status (or at least you don't look like the awkward guy that refuse to drink a glass of wine/beer or a cocktail).
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Buy a drink but drink it really slow, how about that?
[–]Alex_O7 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Another helpfull trick is to buy a drink and when you finish it you ask for a glass of water. In clubs usually they give to you it in a glass similar (if not the same) to the one of drinks. Then take a straw and act like it is a drink 😂
Oh yeah, I literally always do that just to stay hydrated.
[–]Alex_O7 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It is a possibility. I actually do that when i attend clubs and discos.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It still is annoying to pay the exorbitant prices for drinks at clubs and music venues though. :/
[–]Alex_O7 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Where i live usually a drink is included in the price to enter in the club.
Anyway if you cannot afford that you could also not buy a drink is not the end of the world.

I think the idea is that most people drink to reduce social anxiety. However, as you do more approaches overall social anxiety decreases to the point where you don't need alcohol anymore. Plus when you are not drinking your mind is functioning 100% instead of 50%. Not drinking means less calories, no hangover, reduces the cost of going out by as much as 50%. By gaining enough experience you have all the benefits of alcohol but no downside. You are ultimately a more dynamic, powerful person. I don't see how that is creepy in any way. Plus, I like to go to clubs where there is actual dancing so there are activities to do other than the drinking.
If you drink just one or two cocktails and then your brain works at 50% you have something to check my friends 😅 For a normal man it usually doesn't happen.
If you like or not, nowadays drinking give social status to you. Not drinking AT ALL, will prevent you to reach this social status. Of course it depends on the Country where you live, but for what i see it is a common things in most Countries culture.
For this reason drink just one drink (or two) could really help you to: 1) do not look weird beeing almost the only one not drinking, 2) have a little kick by alcohol at the beginning, but staying focused in the long term (as i say just a couple of cocktails could not hurt your brain), 3) have a bit more energy given by the alcohol it self in the form of calories, 4) you can use the time at the bar of a club to flirt, it is pretty easy to cold approach a girl just asking for what she is drinking or what she have in mind to drink and then drink together. Not drinking at all means that you could not do that.

-Be funny, but not a dancing monkey. Women like funny men, but if all you're doing is throwing out jokes, you will come across as one-dimensional and won't build any genuine, long-lasting attraction.
-Be funny, but not a dancing monkey.

How? Im either tossing jokes left and right or im totally serious. Its like the state of my mind. I cant talk about normal topics, make a joke and then continue. Its either A or B. Also when I try make some joke , Im not sure how to revert into being normal ?
[–]SwoleBuddha 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Practice is key to getting the balance right.
It's also important to know who you're talking too. A drunk 21 year old is more likely to enjoy the constant joking than someone a little older. My advice would be to try to be serious the same way other guys try to be funny. It might be awkward at first, but keep working on it until it's more natural.

In any interaction you have, be it romantic or platonic, remember to be a value-giver and not a value-taker. I didn't overcome my approach anxiety until I could look at the woman I wanted to approach and say to myself, and mean it, "I don't know how this interaction will end, but I can guarantee her night will be better for having met me." That's an extremely empowering attitude. If you truly believe that you can bring joy to another person's life, there's no reason not to talk to them. But you won't get this feeling until your intentions are congruent with the above mantra. When your priority is to bring joy into the lives of others, there's no room for lies, games, vengeance or deceit.
I like this quote. As I think many people get obsessed with not being a 'nice guy'. But I think if you can be genuinely giving without expecting anything in return that is a very attractive quality. I'm not saying be a door mat that doesn't stand up for yourself when need be, but I've always found a more positive experience in life when I can just give people what they want, without necessarily expecting something. The idea that if you give her attention and you get nothing in return you've lost won't get you far.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you got something out of it.
As for your question, I'll preface my answer by saying approaching in the street was never my go-to method of game. I did it, but I wouldn't call myself an authority on the topic. With that said, I found the best results would come from just being honest. "Hi, I just noticed you standing here and thought you looked interesting/cute/fascinating. I wanted to come meet you."
If you let the lows knock you out of the game, you won't get to experience the highs waiting for you up ahead.
Pretty sure you stole that one from Warren Buffet ;)
Good job on the personal development. Admirable observations.
[–][deleted] 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It can be done in a lot of ways depending on the type of interaction. If it's just a brief encounter at a bar, just making her laugh and adding some positivity to their night is, in its own small way, adding positivity. If you actually go on a date, show her a good time and treat her well. If it's just a one night stand, be respectful and make sure she enjoys the little bit of time she spends with you.
[–]huntdog49 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Having, "standards", only works when they are broad. You must be willing to change some. (Nothing important like religious faith. ) Your personal appearance is very important. But,these days, you must have a look that causes you to stand out in a crowd. Here's the most important thing:Don't lie. Don't try. It would be better that you were never born when she finds out that you have lied. Good luck.

Have standards and stick to them.
I couldn't disagree more.
When I started dating online, I noticed that it's basically a "quantity vs quality" thing: you can get a lot of dates but a lot of these women are mediocre looking.
At first, this was embarrassing. I remember one girl in particular who was fat and dumpy and I was embarrassed to be seen in public with her. I'd make an effort to walk a few steps ahead of her, in case someone saw me.
Damn, am I glad I got over that!
Homely girls are a blast. They're less work, they're frequently great in bed, they're often smart.
For me, it got to a point where it became a preference.
I'm not saying that EVERY beautiful girl is a pain in the ass, but there's definitely a trend.
Obviously, if you're looking for a monogamous committed relationship, my advice is silly. But if you're playing the field, give fat girls some love.
I don't think you're really disagreeing with me. Having standards isn't only, or even primarily, in reference to physical appearance. It sounds like there are qualities you find unappealing in many traditionally attractive women, so you try to meet girls who don't possess those characteristics. That's exactly my point. Don't waste your time on girls who annoy you.
[–]Not_My_Real_Acct_ -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't waste your time on girls who annoy you.
That's an excellent summary. Here's an example:
I'm not into skinny girls. But I'm also not "picky", I'll go out with girls of all shapes, sizes and colors.
At the time, I was quite deceptive about how many girls I was dating. Basically I was fucking three different girls, and none of the three knew about each other. All three thought I was in a monogamous relationship with them.
One of the girls was skinny and blonde, and very 'traditionally' attractive. And she dumped me for a guy who lived a hundred miles away, who seemed to be A Player.
For about six months, I was pulling my hair out, trying to figure out how to get her to like me. But then I realized that I should emulate the other dude, the one who lived halfway across the state and wasn't even offering her a commitment.
That was one of my 'Eureka' moments where I realized that there's almost an "inverse relationship" between how much effort you invest and how much you get back. Basically that it's easier to date four women and barely make an effort, than date ONE woman and invest your heart and soul.
Or, as you said, "don't waste your time on girls who annoy you." :)
