Does anyone else think it’s ironic that pickup teachers tell you not to make women your life’s purpose while they have literally made meeting women and teaching how to meet women their life purpose?

Unless they're indepèndently wealthy they have some other life purpose aka career. Some of them drop out of school and become a sort of pickup bum for a while but most of them go back to a normal career or else become a coach in which case teaching is their life purpose, not pickup as such.

That's what I have gathered from listening to a lot of their stories.

I never really meshed with the image many of these coaches portrayed. It's a constant image blast of parties and other wild shenanigans that's been fostered by the prevalence of "flash game" content and guys buy into it without much thought as to the context of the content. In my opinion, I doubt I'll be hitting up crazy parties into my later thirties and fourties, so it's always funny when I hear these guys talk about "self-development" and "living the best life", but their world's still revolve around going out every weekend. It just seems really unbalanced when there's so much else to cover in regards to men's lifestyle, such as fitness, fashion, finances, health, etc. I mean, how can you a guy how to pickup a high quality woman, when your own life is a mess? I remember I asked one "coach" what he did other than pickup, and his reply was pretty much just "working out and talking to chicks". I guess he was trying to give a fuckboy answer, but it really seemed lackluster and bare-minimum in regards to "leading an awesome life".

Its the catch 22 of any seduction/pickup community. Men really should focus primarily on their life purposes with women being something that kind of comes to them after it.

Its kind of sad actually the ones that spend their time, day in day out developing formulas and cold approaching tactics.

The biological drive to get women can be a powerful motivator though, especially when channeled to useful things.

Some 10yrs ago (at least), RSD's Tyler said you eventually "graduate" from pickup: the forums and scene in general. And that's fine.

Except Tyler, Jeffy and Ozzie never did.

How old is Ozzie these days? 50? He looked good in Transformations back in 2006/7, but in his last vids, sitting lank haired with his man-boobs visible under his t-shirt and grey stubble... I felt sorry for him. Like he didn't have any option but to keep on the treadmill, because this was the only job he could do now, and what else was he going to do after 12yrs+ of being of being a pickup coach. The guys he's coaching being young enough to be his kids.

Now his YouTube Channel has been wiped and no mention of him doing any events for RSD coming up.

I don't think Jeffy's in a much better position.

There gets a point where you just age out of the frat boy thing or it becomes unseemly; embarrassing at worst. Yet these guys are all still pretending they're 21. Which is maybe a missed opportunity in itself to appeal to the older guy on the dating scene - but that's not a market RSD seems to have ever been interested in going after.

Tyler talked about expanding into self-help years ago (and being a comedian) and nothing came of it. RSD can shutdown their forum, wipe their article database, cleanse their YouTube channels... but they will never, ever, be able to shake their PU past and that's going to be a huge problem in getting taken seriously by the mainstream public as a self-help company.

The ways people choose to make their money (because they're good at it) isn't necessarily their life's purpose. Just because Robert de Niro is a good actor and that's how he makes his living, doesn't mean he'd tell you acting is his life purpose.

It's a little sad to me that so few people seem to be hearing from guys like James Marshall, David Wygant, Mark Manson, or even Style.

It's typical for guys who become PUAs to become focused on pickup in this way.

It's also typical for many to move on from this sort of single minded focus after they come to the realization that their lives were imbalanced.

Does everyone come to this realization? No.

Should we judge all of them according to the ones who never develop further? One could, but doing so requires exaggerating one part of the group, and ignoring the rest.

A lot of people come here to Seddit and do the same, judging everyone here by the trolls, tone deaf newbs, etc, who come here.

What's ironic is that this sort of mindset that leads to such black and white thinking and ignoring nuance, is quite similar to the mindset that leads to limiting beliefs and guys talking themselves out of believing that girls might be interested in them.

because people start to get older. if you aren't getting laid, then you put getting laid on a pedestal. after being able to get laid constantly, you still have to figure out your dreams/lift purpose. its shifting their business to their old clientele to keep them as paying customers.

tony robbins is the biggest motivational speaker I know, figuratively and successfully. want to make cash, sell motivational and self help books to those who bought your previous products. there is only so much "game" which hasn't been covered.
