Just for reference, I'm a late-twenties working stiff who lives in a major city.

This is just a short word of warning to all of you younger guys who are in college and high school: get your love life handled as soon as you can.

Because the reality is once you get a full-time career, dating becomes very difficult. Everything needs to be "scheduled" and your success in dating largely contradicts success in your career. It's very hard to constantly date, stay up late, and spend mental energy improving yourself in this area while juggling projects and advancing yourself in the corporate ladder.

I didn't handle this in either college or high school, and am slowly realizing I'll probably never get to where I want to be in my dating life. As soon as I make progress somehow in dating, work gets crazy and I can't go out for weeks, and I start all over again the next time I attempt it. I get and cancel dates super quick because of work, to obviously never hear from the girl again once she realizes I'm too busy.

Even stupid shit like student loans get in the way. If you have to live in a crappy apartment far from the happenings of town because you're shoveling all of your disposable income towards debt, that impacts your social life. Hard.

It becomes difficult watching your friends go through girlfriend after girlfriend because they figured it out in their college years.

I'm not looking for sympathy....I've made my bed. This is something I wish someone told me when I was in college smoking dope every day. Get this figured out. It will help you a lot later on.
