If there's one thing I've learned these days, it's that women actually do like being approached - in fact, they prefer it. In the age of social media and dating apps, it just happens more and more infrequently all the time. Women love it when a guy mans up and approaches in person - many women (friends and randoms that I've asked) have told me as much.
[–]Yamatoman9 52 points53 points54 points 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Exactly right. Too many guys these days (and people on this sub) always take the easy way out and rely too much on Tinder, texting and social media.
I find women are far more responsive and willing to talk in person if you have the guts to approach them. The same ones who may not give you the time of day on Tinder. It happens less these days so if you are one of the guys who does approach in person, I feel it puts you at an immediate advantage.
[–]ANGRY_ASPARAGUS 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed 100%. You have a better chance approaching that 9 or 10/10 in person than you would have on Tinder. Just be confident, don't take things too seriously, make her (and her friends) laugh, and be that fun / leading guy that girls can laugh with and feel comfortable around. This is the approach me and my friends take, and it always works.
Apps should never, ever replace real life. Too many guys fall into this trap. When one realizes this, they'll find their interactions and responses greater and more positive in person because less guys are doing it now.
[–]luckyme323 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's in interesting thought. The approach game is becoming more valuable?
[–]InterstellarReddit 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I get positive feedback every time I approach. Even if they didn’t like me to continue to a date, they always say that it was “refreshing” that I approached instead of sliding in DMs etc. That’s why I encourage everyone to just say “Hi”. Especially during daygame.
I think at night in bars and clubs, it’s hard to get that positivity from an approach, I would say because maybe it’s expected at a Bar/Lounge/Club?
[–]EarthWarping 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, occasionally you get a bad experience but even when you get rejected most are nice about it and say you made their day.
Oh and at bars/clubs go indirect.
[–]Aeon199 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link
That's not true man. Ask any honest woman around--well, not in places like this, where the small % into it will be over-represented--if they like to be approached. Almost all will say they want to be left alone to go about their day, they'll say it's creepy or bothersome, etc. I've seen a lot more of this type of thing online, than the reverse!
So I call BS. You're just writing this for goodwill, to be inspirational, which is fair, but it's incorrect.
Maybe if the guy is socially-fluent and good-looking, he'd have a fair chance to establish comfort, but otherwise it's probably not right, in my opinion. You're not seeing things from the other side of the aisle.
Respect is the key word.
[–]ANGRY_ASPARAGUS 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Absolute bunk. You're defeating yourself before even giving yourself a chance. Guys who subscribe to this immediately set themselves up for failure. My own experiences completely prove otherwise.
Dress well, be respectful, don't be an ass. It's not illegal to talk to strangers, sorry. If they're receptive, awesome. If not, wish them a good night and move on. It's not complicated. Read Mark Manson's Models for more information on negative / neutral / receptive women, if you'd like to learn more.
[–]Aeon199 -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Absolute bunk.
Care to explain how my comment got 4 upvotes, then? Seems like others are in agreeance with me, does it not?
Maybe you should try talking to actual women who like to go about their day without being disturbed by some random guy with ulterior motives.
I've asked many women online about this. There is a clear consensus and it aligns with what I've said--they don't want to be be bothered. Are you going to argue they're being dishonest, or something?
[–]ANGRY_ASPARAGUS 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Are you actually going to compare "upvotes" when my OP has over 160 of them?
You have your own experiences, I have mine. In my experience, talking to women in person, ACTUAL WOMEN, not only online ones like you talk to, works. Sorry dude, but the proof is there. You have no idea who I am, who I know, and who I talk to. But hey, keep making generalizations about me and excuses for yourself and not meeting quality women in real life. How's that working out?
[–]Aeon199 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Even though it looks as if I was hesitantly agreeing with you, what is your opinion on this kind of thing:
https://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/cksuha/is_it_feminism_making_women_increasingly_paranoid/
Seems to underline the point I was making, does it not?
[–]Aeon199 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not too well. At this point, maybe I should try taking a page from your book. For real, too...
Online sucks and I've never gotten anywhere with it, even after years. So, maybe I need to try something else, after all
[–]ANGRY_ASPARAGUS 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Go for it brother, just do it. You got nothing to lose. You have a much better chance in real life anyways, since you have more of an immediate opportunity to get their attention and keep it. Online, they can just swipe left on you / ignore you... in person, they get to meet the real, valuable you.
[–]eazolan 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
They love *attractive* men coming up and hitting on them. The remaining 95% of men are like homeless people.
[–]Jaegyueo0815 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dont be so negative my dude, just try :)
[–]Webby915 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah this is 100% false, stop encouraging harassment.
Harassment? Yeah, 100% no. Maybe don't harass them then? There's a difference between talking to women and being harassing.
[–]SyrusDrake 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Probably depends on the cultural context. Around here, they'd be confused at best and annoyed at worst. Talking to strangers is just not something you do.
[–]-risefromashes- 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
AHAHHAHAAHA you spend your entire day posting in /r/inceltears and /r/seduction
LMAO the living embodiement of a fucking incel but you larp as a normal person hahahahaha you're lower than any incel I've ever seen.
[–]SyrusDrake 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Ohh, yay, my first incel hate mail. Well, I think. I don't really remember you lot that much, you're just amusing snack breaks.
I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to say. I guess I could just poke you with a stick to see what you'll do next.
[–]-risefromashes- 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't really remember you lot that much
All you do is post in inceltears, 15 comments just yesterday.
You are an incel.
[–]SyrusDrake 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Huh, you pay more attention to my posting habits than I did to my posts. I think I got into a discussion with one of you lot.
Regardless though, is there any more substance to your claim than just "you make 15 posts a day". I thought arguing with an incel with DM would be more fun. You're boring.

One question. What is the point of asking for a fake number..?
[–][deleted] 92 points93 points94 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That book isn’t for pickup. The point is to get comfortable thinking on your feet with strangers. You ask for a fake number so the person asks why you want a fake number and now you have to explain yourself. It makes you more comfortable in your own skin and teaches you that any reason to do something is reason enough.
[–]whysoserial420 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
For me personally it was easier to get started because I could gracefully back out when someone wasn't interested. The challenge is designed for everyone, even people who are in a relationship or are not interested in meeting anyone new.
[–]Yaboifuckboi 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Just curious how that really makes it a graceful backing out though. A graceful backout to me is “ok all good” and walk away. And honestly if you’re at a crowded place like a bar/club or something I’ve noticed sometimes they’ll re-approach you because they like a guy that can take a no. Girls are fuckin weird bottom line it’s all wishy washy with them.
Personally I do my best in with 3 things on my mind
I’m 10x smoother when I haven’t whacked it for weeks it’s like my peepee starts making the moves for me lol
I just be myself even if it’s awkward like saying dumb shit, it’s genuine and girls appreciate. And if she doesn’t like me for me then that’s fine I’ll move on we’re not a fit. (Basically point 3)
I have it through my head that I’m seeing if she is good for me.
[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I feel like when I don't "whack" it, I would feel much more hornier and needier, and with more anxiety. Fuck sex addiction.
[–]Yaboifuckboi 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hey man if you want help on quitting porn hit me up. It took me 7 years but I’m finally on the track I want to be on
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
alright bro msg sent
[–]RiusGoneMad 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Cut porn cold turkey.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
bro I literally said that I'm afraid of stopping, and your advice is just to stop. Cool
[–]ChrisHarles 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Don't you become very horny all the time without whacking it? Heck, how would you even go about lasting long enough in the sheets???
[–]Yaboifuckboi 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I am lol. But I have learned to channel it. When I see big titty Asian girl at the gym I control it. I go right into my next set but I do keep my eye out just in case I catch her mirin
I realized after a few weeks your dick stops getting up after a slight poke as in like the first 2 weeks. But god when it’s up it’s fuckin UP. I lasted 3 hours after 17 days my first time going home on leave (military) and went to a house party. Some girl clung to me like I wouldn’t believe. I knew her in high school too. But that 3 hours was ridiculous normally I last maybe 1-2 min but after not whackin it I personally have no problem lasting
On the other hand though yeah you might 2 pump chump hard. But at the same time you could probably bust another 15 min later being real. So she’s really not gonna have an issue with it just be like yeah it’s been a while since I blew a load and she’ll understand plus she’s not gonna give up til she gets hers especially if she knows she can get it out of you in round 2. It’s psychological for girls. She wants to be desired and if you show the drive that you want a 2nd bust with her she’ll be down
[–]Hydes04 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Been tryna quit for a while and all of what you have said is very useful. Thanks g
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've never been re-approached after taking a no gracefully, what's your magic trick?
[–]PathToEternity 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't let this guy over analyze what's working for you
[–][deleted] 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
[permanently deleted]
[–]Tai-Bo 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's absolutely not the point, just a nice side effect
[–]Yaboifuckboi 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That’s an anecdote bruh it still seems pointless. I’m saying what is the overall reasoning it seems very pointless because she’s either into you or not and saying sauce me a fake number isn’t going to make her decide one way over the other
[–]ProteinPavel 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Probably more of a fulfillment thing but hey, if she gives you the number like OP, get two birds stoned at once.
[–]usegao 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
the easiest number for people to remember is often their own phone number. that is why many people use parts of their own phone number for passwords/pins/phone unlock codes.
[–]FairAnalyst 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This actually seems like a decent way to teach someone to keep moving forward and push for a little extra even in the face of opposition. Here we call holding frame and getting through shittests but it’s actually hard to apply if you are completely new.
[–]human8ure 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
To make her laugh. To lighten the heavy, awkward mood. It's an icebreaker.
[–]Yaboifuckboi 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Idk I’m comfortable being awkward. I’ll say something dumb and she’ll giggle at my weird. But I am a believer that it just depends on if she thinks you’re cute but also confident and approaching is half the battle.
[–]human8ure 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's the point. A fake number is saying something dumb.
[–]Yaboifuckboi -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t like planned statements though
[–]kkstoimenov 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It turns what might be awkward or weird into something amusing and fun. And it lets you practice the process, even if you don't get the outcome you wanted
[–]smorrow 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Why is it "amusing and fun"?
How is it more practice than asking for the real number?
[–]kkstoimenov 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's supposed to be after you already have asked
[–]insomnis_animo 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Out of curiosity if she had asked why you wanted a fake number, what would you have said?
[–]whysoserial420 26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
I haven't put too much thought into that, but maybe a good response would have been :'Well, if you really want to know, I guess you'll have to give me your real number'. But maybe that would backfire. I don't know.
[–]lostinth0ught 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nah dude. You'll at least get a smile for that clever comeback. Thanks for posting. :)
[–]insomnis_animo 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha not bad at all!
[–]smorrow 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What's the reason given in the book for asking for a fake number?
[–]DiViNiTY1337 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dude the fake number thing is honestly so good. It very clearly displays playfulness and a lack of seriousness to the situation.
Rather than just being plain boring and maybe even a bit disappointed, saying it's okay and wishing them a good day when leaving and what not - which for the record is like how 99% of rejections go down for these girls - Instead you turn it into a positive, fun, I'd even say charming and confident part of the interaction.
Clearly it worked. Guarantee that she changed her mind the second you asked for that fake number. "A fake number? He wants me to give him a fake number!? Hahah, what the fuck!? That's hilarious. Think I'll give him my real number."
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Congrats bro, you got this one !
Also, where are you from ? Seems like you're from the same country as me

[–]treatsndentalsticks 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]hamdimo 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're also from Austria, it took me 10 seconds to find that out, simply have a look at anyone's previous comments on Reddit.
Haha. Yes very impressive. But if you ment me, I am not from austria. I speak german though. But also dutch and french fluently

How do I beat the fear of being rejected?
[–]uce_kefe 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Highly recommend The 4 hour work week. Such an amazing book! Also went through the second challenge, it was a struggle at first but eventually, you start getting comfortable in your skin and just be yourself. Women love being approached.
[–]SaigonNoseBiter 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My man
OP now tha u got her number TEXT her and plan a date ASAP
holy moses, millennials are learning to date!
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
AWWW that's so god damn cute
I never approached a girl and I think I will do the same, asking for a fake number if she says no, even telling her the truth "gimme a fake one so I don't feel too bad about myself" with a touch of humour in body language. And I have a new book to read now! Tim Ferris Ted talk about deconstructing things to learn them was very inspiring, that guy is smart as hell
