It reminds me of a scenario I experienced some years back. I couldn’t gage a girl’s interest in me. It was hot and cold. Looking back, she initiated a lot of contact, but gave very little compliance. This should have told me: she doesn’t want to be around me like that. Contact is simply that; contact. I thought she may be shy, or nervous. No. You live and learn.

I spoke to a mutual female friend who told me that “I think she enjoys having you there”. I didn’t understand it. At all. I was an ego boost. I was fairly young so I had never experienced anything like this before and truly opened my mind up to the depths some people will go to simply feel better about themselves, at the expense of others.

An example of a girl that was attracted to me: She was in one of my classes. Bumped in to me during a night out. Approached me and asked for my number. Gave me a goodbye kiss. Would text me frequently, enquiring if I was out and what bars I was at. Would text me things before exams such as “can you meet me before the exam, I don’t know where we’re supposed to go?”. She knew, there was only one place to go. This is attraction.

It’s very simple and it took me a terribly long time to learn.
