Don't listen to any advice on this subreddit, they're all either lying or 10/10s. Most pickup artists are scammers that want your money, it makes more the longer you subscribe to them. Just focus on your aesthetics, go to the gym and starve yourself if you're overweight, or eat a bunch and work out if you're scrawny. Then just ask attractive women out, and expect either rejection or success. Or just bypass it all and pay for sex. It's not a good thing morally to do but it will satisfy your itch for sexual gratification for a moment.

99.9% of the coaches in this industry are frauds that know nothing they speak off. Even the top people in the industry are recycled off old concepts. There's people in this industry who have done game for over 10 years with 100 laycount teaching this stuff.

I'd honestly stick with learning basic social dynamics and going out there and applying it. See where the conversation falls flat and work on that. You don't need to pay anyone to get good at this. These scammers charge like 10k for a shitty boot camp. Put that money in yourself instead.

I get the skepticism—there are a lot of people out there just trying to make a quick buck. But here’s the thing: not all coaches are the same, and genuine coaching can make a massive difference if you’re looking for long-term growth, especially when you’ve been friend-zoned or ghosted.

One thing I’d say is don’t expect magic bullets from anyone. A good coach is going to help you refine your game step by step. They’ll push you to improve your confidence, approach, and escalation in a way that works for you—not just some canned pick-up lines.

To get over that skepticism, look for coaches with real results, testimonials, and a holistic approach to dating, not just gimmicks. How long have they been in business? Most wannabe coaches fail in 1-2 years while we’ve been coaching for close to 20. Have they been investigated by the media and TV? Most coaches don’t pass the smell test and get crucified by journalists while we’ve had female reporters embedded into our bootcamps. Does your coach have a similar background as you? Studies have shown that when a therapist and patient have similar backgrounds, it’s more likely to be effective. After all, it’s one thing to try to learn game from a tall good looking white guy, versus someone like me with no genetic advantages at 5’5, below average face, and Asian.

I’d suggest booking a consultation or even starting with a free trial of a program to see if it resonates with you before committing. We’ve seen men of all ages improve their dating lives through coaching—not by becoming someone they’re not, but by becoming the best version of themselves.

If you want to sort it out fully to get command over your dating life this process takes years with eventual help from a therapist to clear childhood trauma

So, I want to weigh in, because I am starting out as a dating coach and want so specialize in beginners and actually nice guys.

Read the recommended books, but take them with a big grain of salt. They are hugely motivating, and a lot of the described techniques work, but not for the advertised reasons. Another number of them works, but will be not suitable for you. Some are just based in misogyny and can fuck right off, with the prime example being negging. A lot work only in specific circumstances with younger girls. Neverthelessm, this will give you a pool of knowledge and techniques to try out, and this might just be enough. If you see success after a month or two, don't spend money on coaching.

Do not spend money on ghostwriting of any kind. If you do, make sure to understand why a conversation works the way it does. From your replies I would say that a coach will help you most in this area. Understanding what makes or breaks a conversation and how to escalate is REALLY hard to figure out from paper.

If you spend money on a coach, find one that will not sell you his style, but help you find yours.

PS: If you get ripped at your age, you will have to fight women off, but it is a) stupidly hard and b) not really necessary to have a reasonable amount of success.
