Ask her when she's free, maybe suggest a day, and if she says "idk if I will be free" or doesn't send a follow-up message in the next couple of days, I would move on. I have been there too and it was honestly so draining to set a date with this person.

People make time for those they care about. You're not on that list. Maybe you'll make the cut once her life slows down a bit, but you do not want to wait around hoping for that.

I'd focus my energy elsewhere and maybe ask her out again in a couple months. If she's still "too busy" at that point, I'd forget about her.

I am skeptical. She knows when she is free. As a Master's Student, she's be in college for years and thus knows the hook up culture well.

Forget dinner, drinks only. She will get a free meal from you and hook up with someone else later that night.

Sounds like/ seems like she is already with someone on the low and maybe has you as backup or she is really just not that interested.

I treat “I don’t know” and “maybe” as “no” because 99% of the time that’s what it is and you are wasting your time otherwise.

Hell, even “yes” becomes a “no” often enough, so definitely move on and put the effort into other girls.

When it comes to scheduling you need to offer her two different days and times. If she's in the lab late how about lunch? Friday at 1 or Saturday at 2. If she denies both of the day/times you decide to offer, she doesn't want to put the effort into seeing you.

These cases are always mixed bags. I’ve had girls who were genuinely busy with studies and work. However I’ve had girls use this as an excuse to not hang out. Who knows.

Youre too available so she has the luxury of hemming and hawing because she knows you will be there no matter what. You need to become the challenge. Maybe you can respond by saying "hmm I am pretty busy in the next few weeks too, maybe some other time." That puts her on the defensive.

Tell her “I’m going with some friends to such and such event on Saturday at such and such time. You should come, bring some of your friends if you want”. If she comes, then you have a chance to make some moves on her. Eventually escalate and hopefully seal the deal.

It sounds like that plan won’t work, because she’s not able to give a specific time.

Some alternatives are you ask her to let you know when she’s free and if you’re also free right then you can meet her. You’ll both have to understand that it might take a few tries before you find that you’re both free.

Or you could make breakfast or lunch plans.

Been through this plenty of times and it’s almost always a bad sign. I’d recommend backing off for a week or two and see if she reaches out. If she doesn’t then you can attempt to set a date 1 more time. If she won’t commit then you never contact again

It's simple to figure out how interested she is from here - But be ready for that to be a no.

Plan to do something interesting Saturday morning - While you're doing whatever activity it is, even just walking in a park, send a picture and write a very simple caption like "fresh morning air."

If she responds positively continue the conversation for 3/4 messages and then try a soft-close like "If I ask you to get a drink will you come with a smile and good conversation?" or simply, "what's your schedule like this afternoon?"

If you get wishy washy answers she's not interested right now. Go meet other women and re-engage her in a couple weeks/months.

If you get good traction the date should plan itself out normally.

I found myself in a very similar situation long ago and here’s how I handled it and what I later discovered through the experience. I knew this woman awhile and we had been flirting for awhile. I definitely thought I could go out with her, but when I asked she said she was busy this week with a number of things. I couldn’t get a firm commitment on a day/time but she seemed genuinely interested In getting together. I remember telling this woman to give me a call when you’re available next week. I remember that by imposing a timeframe that she would be forced to consider just how interested she was in actually going out. Turns out, not much. I never heard from her. She never called and we never went out. I did see her out weeks later with some guy at a club. Moral of the story is: If a woman is interested in you she will make time to see you. If she’s not interested there’s a reason why and it usually involves another guy. It has NOTHING to do with work or her academic pursuits. Sorry.

I just told a girl I’m free Friday she said me too we should do something I said Friday it is we’ll do something. I’ll send a text that following morning for what time she wants to chill and we’ll go from there. They make time for who they want to spend it with. Period.
