Summary: There is nothing wrong with going out alone. Nobody cares except you.

Body: I have noticed that there is a definite lack of quality posts regarding going out solo, and I aim to fix that.

First, if any of you haven't yet I feel that one of the best books that you can read regarding TRP methodology is 'Models' by Mark Manson. It is absolutely fantastic and, I promise, it describes YOU to a T and we need to recognize that we aren't suffering alone nor are our problems unheard of to other people.

For YEARS now I haven't gone out to meet the women that I want to meet. After the military I lived with my dad, and what girl is going to go home with some guy if he lives at his parent's house?

After that when I finally moved out I decided that I needed better clothes. I got some. They're really nice. As far as casual outing clothes is concerned I think True Religion is a great brand (the reason I got such expensive clothes is because that is what I thought would make me feel great, and it does. Levi's is a great brand as well and I love them, too. Either way, women in a college town don't really care).

After I got these sick threads I decided that I needed to read more theory, and I did. Thing is I had read it all before. I was casting out for excuses now.

Then I finally came to a place, mentally, where I legitimately wanted to go out. And I said "If ONLY I had someone to go out with! All of my best friends are married now! Darn, I guess there's no can do! I'll play 'The Witcher 3' instead."

And it goes on and on.

Last night, I finally really wanted something to change. I didn't have any invites from buddies, I didn't want to go to the movies or anything. I wanted to go meet women and do something exciting that didn't involve a bookstore or a movie theatre or the gym or videogames or anything that I've been doing.

Look, if you've never made the conscious decision to go out alone (and I'm not tooting my own horn), it takes courage.

"I'll be a weirdo/creep/I'm just going out to try to fuck bitches, and that's just so creepy!"

Look man, your excuses only make sense to the person who is saying them, and to me those sounded like a good enough reason to not go out last night.

I became invested: I put on my jeans, and my nice shoes. I did my hair and I put on my shirt. I didn't put on all these sexy clothes just to take them off and go to bed early on a Friday. I thought about seriously doing that even then.

I get in my car with my heart pounding and butterflies in my stomach, and that sounds totally weak but it's true. I was nervous. This was absolutely unknown territory, but I HAD to go. I want this and I'm not going to meet women watching TV or hoping that it happens at a grocery store.

A man has to take it.

So I went to the old obligatory street of bars that every college town has, and I said "Man, the parking sucks. May as well go home." And I really kept driving for a minute before I pulled in a gas station and turned around.

I paid for some parking and sat in my car for a minute, feeling nervous, and I eventually got out of my car.

Then I realized that I made a mistake.

Guys, it is really a good idea to get a feel for the pulse of the nightlife. I got there at about 2300, but it will start to heat up and get loud at 2330 or 0000.

I lost a lot of steam just because I was walking around not really wanting to go into anyplace because there weren't many people there.

But I met people! walked into a place that seemed loud and grabbed a drink. Sat down and went over and talked to girl! Mission accomplished!

And then you realize, that that shit feels good. It didn't go anywhere, but if felt good to touch and talk to a girl. Go to another bar (got distracted by watching Troy on the wall for about 5 minutes) meet a girl from class! She has a bf, but whatever I'll talk to her friend!

Holy shit, boobs over there I'm on that right fucking now.

And on and on until it was 2 am and I wanted to go home.

Lessons Learned: STICKING POINT: I'm not scared to approach, but I don't know what to say after I introduce myself (direct approach) and shake their hand and go kino really quickly. But I MUST fix this! I WILL FIX THIS.

I had a great time, and nobody was there to help me. I was a guy in a huge crowd of people, and you're alone when you approach a woman anyway, so you may as well be alone the whole night.

You can do it!

Edit: words, formatting

EDIT2: Something that I have been doing for a few years now is going out alone in general. I go to see movies alone very frequently, and I wanted pancakes once so I went to IHOP alone as well. If anybody needs to 'practice' going out alone, just go do things that couples normally do (obviously, for me it's just movies and eating at shitty restaurants), but just do it alone. At least you'll be acclimated to being alone in a place that groups normally go to together.

EDIT 3: SERIOUSLY guys, If you have trouble being social drugs are absolutely not the answer. Don't do drugs.
