IUD’s are 99% effective at preventing pregnancy (source: planned parenthood), so you’re fairly safe on that front as it sounds like you trust her and she’s being truthful about having one.

In terms of STI’s/STD’s, are you sleeping with anybody else or is there a chance you will while seeing her? Is she? Is that something you think she would hide from you if she was sleeping with other people? Or are you exclusive?

Reminder, the most common symptom of an STD is no symptom, so get tested!

If you want peace of mind in terms of pregnancy/STD prevention, just use a condom. But like I said if she’s being truthful she probably won’t get pregnant without a condom, ask her if she’s gotten tested recently (or you both can go get tested together;))

My husband and I have been using an IUD as our only contraception (i.e., no condoms, no pulling out) for 15 years, and so far, so good. I would worry more about STDs if I were you.

As far as pregnancy, an IUD is infinitely more effective than the pullout method, so assuming she has one, I don't know that pulling out is worth its many downsides (unless that's what you're into).
