It depends by how much value you give to that rejection. Most of the time, it’s just in your head.

If you think you played your game well, than rejection is part of the game, and you can move on.

Otherwise, learn from potential mistakes and blind spots, so that at least you learned something new.

I think it’s the same thing with the rejection when approaching. Kinda like newtonian law (for you nerds) but it’s metaphorically of course. The same amount of energy you gave can be redirected back at you. So the more you try, the more pain you might feel when you get rejected.

When you approach, number one rule still applies, please don’t put her on a pedestal. You and her are equal. Once you put her up there of course it gives her room to be able to kick your ass and stomp on your head, simply because you put yourself in a lower position.

Imagine this scenario:

You: can I get your number?

She can answer from “sure” to “I dont know, CAN you? [laugh hysterically]” to “ehhh… no? We just met.”

So instead of giving her room to be dismissive by asking for her permission (”Can I ….?” questions), there are better ways to reframe it: “we should keep in touch” or “let’s hang out sometime this weekend.”
