Yes. Open up yourself. People don’t know what they like about you if you don’t open yourself up.

More practical: learn how to actively listen, learn how to carry a conversation, last but not least: learn how to tell a short story (doesn’t matter if it’s a joke/not).

Changes like this have to come from within. It's not "say this or that". It's an inner-game issue.

These charismatic people have an inner world that is different from yours. Most likely, they have an intense desire to be the center of attention in a group of people. Their desire to be the center of attention and impress those around them is likely multiple times higher than yours.

This isn't necessarily a good thing for them. Because people like this often tie their self-worth to getting attention. Essentially they operate with a worldview where they believe getting attention means they have worth. And if they don't get attention they feel worthless.

So for them it's usually deeply tied to their identity and how they view themselves. Can you see now how their motivation to "get attention" and "be charismatic" is extremely high?

You might feel like you have a lot of self-worth even when you're not the center of attention. And therefore, you don't have this intense drive to always be charismatic or get people to look at you. And if so, your sense of self-worth is actually psychologically healthier and more robust than for them.

Don't assume their method of being charismatic is better than the way you are. You are mellow. Plenty of women prefer to date / fuck a mellow guy over a guy that always needs to be loud / center of attention. It's not always a good idea to copy someone else, because then you're just competing for the same women that like the same thing. If women like mellow guys, you could bag those. But if you compete with your friend on charisma - well women that like loud charismatic guys will probably choose him over you every time. Because he's naturally that way, and you would be faking it.

If you’re in a city, take an improv course. Also, dancing classes. Travel, even if on a small budget - Camino de Santiago trek is a good starting point.

as someone who struggled with this, i will say it takes a lot of time to change but you can do it.

You have it in you, you just dont display it probably when people are around.

For me i would practice by meeting new people, men and women. Id go up to 1 person and just try to find common ground.

Everyone has that 1 thing that if it got brought up you can talka bout for hours. Id try to find that for me. Im a sports guy, i like travel, etc. So id tyr to find that common ground. Id go to events designed for people to meet (networking events, meetups, dating events etc). I didnt go to try and get a GF out of it, just to get comfortable meeting new people.

But again it takes a lot of practice. A lot of learning how to get out of your own head, and just doing. Your out and about, dont worry what the people you dont know migh tthink, just do even if you look foolish.

Women want to be around the guy that they think will give them a good night. That's why a guy whose magnetic, girls look at that and start laughing and having a good time. Women dont think about the long run, they dont think "oh that guy seems like a good guy for the long run" they think "oh that guy looks fun" then in the long run they hope he's a good guy.

I will give you two hints:

Practice in front of a camera daily. Watch the video replay. Judge yourself based on your expressiveness, voice tonality, eye contact, etc. Experiment and try a variety of emotions. Observe and improve.
Practice being physically loose and relaxed. You can’t be charismatic if you are tense. If you watch Trump on stage, regardless of what you think of him, his hands are almost dangling by his side, very loose and relaxed. That’s practiced.

Reframe it away from imitation. You're not imitating anyone, you're initiating your perception of what you believe them to be.

Focus more on your personal experience about when you've felt most charismatic. How you behaved then, what you talked about, your appearance and posture etc. If you're stuck, try journaling for 20 minutes to wrap your head around when your version of you is presenting best.

Then look for natural ways to let that version of you show up. Talk to the cashier, take an extra ten seconds to chat with the random people you interact with, flash a smile to passerbys. Then build and build on that until it's natural for you to get out of your head and make connections.

What do you love, read about that, try to share it with others.

What do they love, enjoy, are passionate about. Be excited and enthusiastic to learn about that from them.

In between do the normal verbal and physical communication styles, listen to what they say. Ask open ended questions, give praise never condemn or complain.

Thats it really, with practice, a lot of it, you can figure out what you can do do be more emotive and charismatic.

But the easier way: Meet people who like you, instead of trying to change into a person you are not.

A big part of charisma is how you make people feel when they are around you, and practically speaking, I think this boils down to two parts: 1. How you carry yourself:. Be confident. So you could take dance classes or improv classes or toastmasters to get over any jitters wrt being the center of attention. Because that is part of it - you need to be able to hold a room. Tell a joke, Or a story. Become unafraid of anyone.

How you care for others: Make them feel seen, comfortable, appreciated. So you could learn to be a good host. Invite friends over for dinner. Make sure they are comfortable and having fun. Or host a party. Make your guests comfortable and seen. You don't need to be the center of attention in this scenario - but learn to make your guests feel comfortable and have a nice time. Ask them about themselves and remember details. Make sure their cup is full.

You need to have an exciting lifestyle, high energy, and good solid communication skills, doing these things requires a lot of persistence and practice. I think a lot of the reason why women are attracted to wealthy men is not necessarily the money but what the benefits of this is, like being able to do the things you enjoy and provide for offspring. Travel, eating out, buying homes, buying cars, so focus on your grind school or work and try to leverage your best qualities as an individual

You have a finite amount of energy. Most people waste a lot of that energy 'bracing'; they're physically tense, mentally distracted, there's a lot of 'internal friction'. The result is a lack of presence, energy, enthusiasm, power in the way they communicate.

Forced performative charisma is its own form of tension. It doesn't work because it's just trying to squeeze more juice out of an already wrung lemon.

It's learned conditioning, which is why some have it and some don't. You have to decondition the habit to tense up, brace yourself, perceive threats, care about self-image, etc. and in doing so you free up a lot of internal resources, focus, energy, to express yourself freely. The more free and liberated you are, the more fun and charismatic you will be. You can read about 'Somatic Healing' if you want more information.
