Unfortunately, for many of the people here "being alpha," has to be a choice before it can be their natural personality. I would say that I have made the transition to being alpha from being much less than alpha, and it didn't happen just because some guy on the internet said it should be my personality. I had to make a lot of life choices to get to this place, and it's those life choices that you are attempting to tell people are not necessary.

tl;dr: I'm not mad at you. I just kinda think you are wrong.

I kind of reverse-AMOGed this guy a while ago. I was being really chatty at a riverside get together (probably 30-40 people there). He was very the "reddit-type" you might imagine, dressed badly, socially awkward, but tried hard to be "alpha" and quite tall and bigger.

I was talking to a girl and he silently appeared next to us mid-conversation. I told a story about going to the beach to watch the sunrise but being on the wrong coast (I'm in Korea, the coasts are close). First thing he said was criticizing what I said, "Mr. Wikipedia" talking about the rotation of the Earth. Anyway, I was right, and he looked very weird.

He did this a few more times. Finally at one point my bud yelled at me "Hey you want another beer?" I said "Naw I'm fine, I had three already" (big 500cc cans). Out of nowhere douchebag mcgee goes "HAHA you had THREE dude I had like SEVEN LUL" in front of everybody, things went kind of silent. I calmly called him out by asking why he's so negative. I backed it up with something like "Ya know, we could probably be friends. We probably have a lot more things in common than you think, and here you are being all negative."

It worked like a charm. Kept my cool, kept things positive, didn't stand up for his bullshit. By the end of the night he was drinking alone in the grass apart from the group, and I walked away with some numbers, a few good buds, and a good buzz.

Anyway yeah. Be calm, be unintimidated, have social awareness, stay positive.

Another thing to do if a guy knows you're hitting on the girl they want to hit on (Mainly because they're scared shitless), stare at them, don't break eye contact until they do. When they do, smile a little bit and that's the end of them. Shows way, way, alpha traits.

a lot of "being alpha" has to do with becoming the most untouchable version of yourself possible, in that nothing can threaten you physically, socially, emotionally, economically, and so on.

a girl rejected you? her loss, on to the next one. a drunk guy at a club accidentally bumps into you? he sees you and tells you sorry. you take a new job and have to relocate knowing nobody in a new city? big deal, you can make new friends easily. you leave a club without a girl after closing? no sweat, you had a fun night regardless and have no insecurities about it whatsoever. just saw a ferrari pass by you on the road? you don't even get jealous for one second, because it is not important to you to show off your wealth

also, most people frame "being alpha" as how a certain man behaves around women, but the truest test is how that man behaves around other men. if a man is capable of leading other men (note: being the boss of someone else does not count, that is a predisposed social construct), that my friends... is the true measure of alpha.

As I once wrote here, with basically everyone disagreeing: don't fake being an alpha, instead, become one, and then you'll simply be natural.

A really effective way of complimenting I found from watching Noel fielding goes like this...

See a girl with a black and white polka dot dress...'hey I like you dress, you look like a sexy dice'.

Compliment, relate to something ridiculous but add in a light sexual note.

Excellent post. Vichet, keep doing what you're doing, because in my opinion you do a clear job of explaining concepts such as 'alpha' or 'confidence' in a way that is insightful and motivating.

You remind the community that we are all on a mission: To simply be better men rather than acting 'alpha.'

Any rewards we accumulate on this mission to be the best we can be are for the most part, inconsequential and akin to sheer fortune giving us a pat on the back for what we've done.

Rather than rewards, we should hope solely for persistence in our mission. We will never stop working towards our goals and reinventing ourselves, in spite of any failures or even great triumphs.

This is the best and arguably only way to live. From one man to another, thank you for pointing the way ahead.

i dont shut anyone out anymore, if a guy is hitting on my target ill let him... i just do it better lol unless he turns out to be a total doucher then i will decimate and dismantle all chances he has... but i like meeting people so why not own it up amoung a larger group of people and look like an even coolerester duder?

As an example, lots of people say that giving compliments is not "alpha."

I give compliments all the time. "Hey, I like your _____" and "nice cans, baby girl." They might not be typical, but they work for me.

I'm not saying I'm alpha yet - I'm not quite there yet, of my own admission - but I own my actions and I do them because they come naturally and they're part of my self expression.

I'm doing pretty well for myself. Figure that?

I saw a pretty apha thing this weekend.This was at a semi crowded bar.

Guy A was jumping around excited from a sports game and drinking. He accidently pushes Guy B without knowing.

Guy B then pushes him back and holds his gaze (maddog look). Guy B was also being followed by 1 or 2 hot chicks. Guy B responded in an alpha way.

Point here is that a beta guy would've rationalize why he got pushed and would have not done anything. "Well we are at a bar, everyone is close to each other, and people are routy and drinking so i should just tolerate people steping on me and pushing me."

An Alpha male doesn't tolerate such things.he grows if someone pushes him or does something 'wrong' to him.

You don't necessarily have to push someone back to be alpha. If you want to be civilize but still be Alpha you can grab the person who pushed you by the shoulder and say "hey buddy, watch where you're bump into"
