This is a classic strategy, and you can vary the details quite a bit if you know how the strategy works.

This is about "compliance momentum." If you ask a low risk, socially innocent question like "do you have the time?" they are likely to answer. They complied with your request, which creates momentum to comply with a higher risk request. So after she replies to "do you have the time?" she is more likely to respond to a more direct followup, even something she might have refused from a cold approach.

I don't think the OP quite understands how this is applied to his opener, but oh well it works for him. The more classic approach is to ask the time, and then say something resembling a direct opener like, "I didn't really need to know the time, I just liked your style and I wanted an excuse to meet you.

Here's my friends opener; I've never tried it but he says it works.

He walks up to a girl and says "hey do you know where Robson street." If she looks at him in an interested way he'll say "I wanted to know what Robson Street was, but now I see that you're cute and I would like to take you for coffee." If she doesn't show interest he just goes to Robson strete.

I been using Roosh's pet store opener and so far hasnt failed to get a convo started, then I add a real story related to that which makes them laugh a little and interested. Where I'm failing is in getting the number cause they all say they have a bf and in some cases plowing thru they give the # but in most they dont.

Nice job Duke, I think you nailed it here with your last line: "if you're in an unwavering good mood it shines through and what you say matters way less than how you're saying it."

I believe that where you are coming from, from the inside out, is ultimately the only thing that matters.

Beyond the mindset of openers (as you're getting at in the end of this comment), where you are coming from will determine everything you say, everything you feel, and everything she feels in your communication.

As long as how you are feeling on the inside is more powerful than your opening line, more powerful than the introductory conversation, that is what she will feel and that is what she will remember you by.

It's like you are the cup of life, and when you are in an unstoppably good mood, you overflow with life.

That is what she desires.

Usually at the gym I like to ask how many sets she got left and some of the time the girl will say 2 sets but you can jump in with me. This helps a lot if you want to warm up with an approach that doesn't scream give me your number. Tell her it's nice to see a girl who's not a just a cardio bunny and isn't afraid to push herself.
