Hello seddit,

I was reading the "no mods post", "seddit is dieing", etc threads like everyone else, and I agree we need some changes to keep seddit growing and improving.

That is why I was excited when I was approached about becoming a /r/seddit moderator! I have a lot of passion for this community and I'm starting to brainstorm some ideas for improvement.

I've already noticed a lot of quality stuff getting caught in spam filter (reddit's algorithms seem really strict), so additional mods means these get cleared out faster. I'm in the camp of answering beginner questions with "Use askseddit / read the sidebar" and leaving them out of seduction, but open to feedback on this.

Additionally, a big focus of mine is going to be cleaning up / updating sidebar. More on this to come.

One thing for sure, is that I know that I'll need your help. I want to form a consensus on how to reply to bad posts, whether they are oneitis related, incredibly broad, or FR that are just bragging, and inform the members how to handle those (downvote, direct to sidebar, point them to askSeddit). Mods can't do everything and having an informed and motivated community will help weed out distractions and encourage better quality posts.
