Downvote whatever you like. I've been going through the posts and removing the ones I consider unnecessary. The mods before now have always been a bit lax, because this subreddit doesn't even get enough posts in the first place, and honestly, I'm not helping anyone by simply removing posts about oneitis or other basic shit. If a guy hasn't read the sidebar, yeah that sucks, but removing his post doesn't provide him with any feedback, and I'm too lazy to go through every single one of those posts and PM the guy with my own advice. Often, he'll just ask more questions, and then I become a personal adviser for him.

A lot of shit gets rehashed here- it's just the nature of the beast. A lot of shit reeks of oneitis. But half the time, when you say something like that to the OP, he'll respond by telling you he does see other girls, he just has a question about this specific situation (and I don't have a problem with that). Also, some of the oneitis posts provide value to other guys who maybe haven't read the same material you've read. Maybe they haven't had the same experiences before. So when it comes to removing posts like that, it's on me to make the call. If I think the post can provide value to other guys (you have to remember, 99% of the people subscribed to seddit have never made a post or comment), then why the hell should I delete the post? Because some people are mildly annoyed by it (since they've seen it before, and maybe the first time they saw it, they learned something from it)? Then they can go ahead and downvote it. As it is right now, I'm gonna approve a majority of posts and see if they generate some good discussion. If they do, then it's not necessarily a "bad" post, is it?

IMO, less moderating is the way to moderate. It's not my place to be removing all kinds of posts because they don't reflect my view of what's "good" and what's "bad." Either way, that's what I've started doing today, and we'll see how it goes. I know there will be an influx of PMs asking me why I thought a post wasn't "worthy"- I'll probably reply to each guy with my reasoning and give some advice. Regardless, your view of how seddit should be is not the same as everyone else's. I know a lot of people agree with you about oneitis posts in general, but it's not black and white.

I'd have to agree. The answer to all these AFCs who want to date the "cute girl in my chemistry class" is for them to go back in time, learn game, practice a lot on girls that aren't cute girls in their chemistry class and then when they do see that girl they just know what to do.

There's no magic bullet, guys. You make yourself a better person, you learn how to be social and outgoing, you get over your approach anxiety by sheer willpower and then drown it out with attempt after attempt until it's gone.

And you should have done this before you meet that amazing girl you know you want to be with forever.

I'm not sure on a blanket bury on single-woman advice though. If the poster obviously already knows what he's doing seduction-wise and is looking for specific tactics I think there's value in that.

But there's just nothing to be gained from answering AFC after AFC asking how to pick up one girl when they don't know the first thing about pickup.

Well... We used to have Mods for that shit, but I guess now it's just us. So, yes. Politely remind them that we have askseddit for these AFC posts, and then downvote, explaining to them that it's for quality control, and nothing else.

Also, POST MORE QUALITY CONTENT! But I guess that's not really an easy order to follow anyway.

I've been doing this since I first found seddit, I thought it was obvious. Those posts add nothing to the discussion, and violate the sidebar rules.

Sad to hear Tofu and Throwaway aren't around any more - I really valued their insight.

It would be dumb to have entirely general discussions, so I don't think that's what you're talking about here. You're basically referring to one-itis posts but those can be easily downvoted and replied to with explanation (GFTOW, etc.)

Perhaps we should just downvote posts that involve a specific girl with NO ACTIONS TAKEN THUS FAR. Just post "take action" and downvote. That might be all this subreddit needs.

People come here for help in seduction. That means you're going to get experience individuals making contributions to better understanding how to be seductive and you're also going to get people who have no idea what they are doing and come from a, shall we say, un-enlightened point of view. Both posts have value, from different perspectives.

Down-voting is just going to give the impression to newbies that this is a place only for people who are established PUAs. So what if some guy is asking how to pick up a cute girl from chemistry class? If you think it's a retarded question, tell him so and why. Don't just pointlessly down-vote.

Fuck no. I think it's plenty viable to invest time into one particular girl, it's half the reason I'm invested in this subreddit. The afc populace around here is a viable (learning) and valuable resource, imo.

The way I see it, yeah, this subreddit is partially geared to getting afc types out of the friend zone. Seduction is, after all, an art designed to get folks into their desired position (primarily) or out of a state they've been (through circumstance or misfortune) trapped in [imo]. We all do what we can, but to downvote a post asking for help regarding a particular woman seems like simple abandonment, to me.

Given the disregard Reddit is continuting to show to their 3rd party developers, their moderators and their community I'm proposing the start of a 'reddit seppuku' movement.

Reddit itself doesn't produce anything of value. The value is generated by it's users sharing posts and comments with each other. Reddit squats above the value we create and extracts value from it.

If spez is going to continue on this path, I don't want them to monetize my content. Therefore, I'm using tools to edit my entire comment history to a generic protest message. I want to wallpaper over all my contributions. I expect people will comment saying they'll get around that anyway - this isn't something I can control.

But I can make a statement, and if that statement is picked up by the press then it will affect the Reddit IPO. Spez needs a wake up call - if he continues to shit on the userbase of Reddit, then I hope the userbase will leave him nothing to monetize.
