The Debate: Do we really need AskSeddit?

Its a cool idea if it ends up getting a lot of subscribers. I also like the idea of nominating "panalists" like r/askscience who are perhaps proven PUA's or people who give field tested advice. It's just hard to verify PUA's and I have no idea how to do the coding.

If askseddit never gets enough subscribers then it is useless.

Unlike conventional forums, there is no easy way to split a subreddit into further subreddits without completely alienating the two reddits from each other.

Most people may just continue to go to Seddit without visiting AskSeddit, particularly if there isn't enough traffic in the main Seddit to begin with.

I'm wodering if there there is another way to solve the problem. First, what is the problem? Can we agree on the problem?

What is the problem?

Newbies come to Seddit and post newbie questions:

How do I neg? How do I get this particular girl?

This annoys regular readers who want to hear about new and interesting aspects of seduction. It keeps Seddit from reaching it's full potential.

But let's see if we can agree on what Seddit should look like.

You come back to Seddit every day and there are brilliant new posts with revolutionary new techniques and ideas.
Exciting field reports.
Seddit attracts the top people in the community who come here and vie for attention by posting brilliant things.
Experienced guys help other people by posting insightful responses to questions.
Repetitive newbie questions get quickly referred to a previous compendium of information on the matter with added encouragement.
People build each other up and critique each other intelligently and freely. Useless comments get downvoted.
A community develops that is greater than the sum of its parts. People get excited to come back for the people and the viewpoints.

I'm wondering about other possibilities to make the subreddit what we want, like labeling posts as [Newbie] or [Advice Request.]

I've also been looking into other subreddits that have split off successfully. Here is 10,000 of the top subreddits listed in order of most subscribers.

Science and AskScience did something like this which seemed to work. But Science is one of the largest subreddits. There aren't a lot of other examples of successful sureddits splitting off, at least that I can find.

Seddit = FRs, field-tested advice, theories, strategy. Let's face it, also funny seduction related stuff. Also some respectable and some shady promotions for blogs/products.

AskSeddit = questions, asking for suggestions, untested theories and strategy.

Basically, if you did something, you attempted to attract some women, went to a party and won people over, talked to those girls in subway, seduced the shit out of your now girlfriend, tried to get a five-some going: Seddit time. We're there to analyze and learn from people's collective experiences.

If you are preparing for a or night out, or a date, day-gaming, club-gaming, funeral-gaming, or you just want to debate hypothetical situations and theory: AskSeddit time.

If you want to make a post, think about if you've tested your post in a couple live situations. If you haven't done anything yet, go to AskSeddit. Or easier yet, if the title is a question,something that begins with, "How do I..." "What should I..." "WTF will I..." go to AskSeddit.

It's not noobs vs experienced sedditors. A noob can post on seddit if he went out and did something. I don't really know where the cut off would be. It's a silly debate. I would consider myself a noob in many areas (though i agree with the "try shit out for at least a week before posting").

I think the difference is Seddit is founded on concrete experiences and AskSeddit is founded on conjecture. Experienced sedditors should participate too. Everybody should subscribe because hey, it's fun to theorize abstractly. Also, it'll make it a useful place and not a noob dumping ground. Best way to focus seddit is to make sure AskSeddit is legit IMO.

I'm really inclined to do it the other way around, that is: One Subreddit for Fieldreports and material, discussion etc.

The newbies will always come to /r/seduction first. They will always ask their questions. This is the reason why there is this obscure invite only seddit. You cannot really influence how people perceive the idea of this subreddit before they have been here. Who the hell reads the sidebar if they have a question they obviously believe to be related the topic of /r/seduction? Hence, I believe we must move further underground and have the makesarahfallforme-posts be dealt with at the surface that is.../r/seduction.

I propose: /r/FRsandTechnique

It's obscure, so it won't attract too many newbies, but it's also a very concise name that needs very little explanation.

Explanation is the key here: If you have to explain it...(in long posts especially...) it won't work. The hasty add-minds of the people roaming the internet do not read explanations or sidebars. information overflow encourages to make uninformed quick decisions. Adapt to the minds of newbies.

I think AskSeddit should be geared more towards beginners like me who have really basic questions on things like Approach Anxiety, texting, facebook, wingmen/women, etc.

/r/seduction should be more for FR's, links to articles on Seduction, IAmA's from pro's, etc.

They can both work as long as people learn where it's appropriate to post what they want to post. For this, moderators will be useful.

IMO its annoying to have to go 2 places for seduction submissions. We'll see though. Wouldn't be surprised if it became thriving, but I think it's better to have it all in the same place. Under these rules, we should have a sedditFR, and a sedditLINKS, and a sedditTHEORY, each devoted to one type of submission.

I dont like FRs all that much so you'd find me in LINKS and THEORY.

After checking out askseddit, it looks like its going to be an anemic seddit. A bunch of noobs asking dumb questions, like, "how i get girl to fucks me? Wut do??"

My vote is that its stupid to seperate seddit. Asking questions in the main reddit is a good jumping off point for intelligent discussion. If someone posts something stupid like the above, they will be mostly ignored and promptly referred to the sidebar. I think askseddit will always play second fiddle to seddit, and will be of lower quality, and quantity.

We don't need AskSeddit if people on Seddit are willing to get off their high horses and stop bitching about "AskSeddit" -kind of messages here.

No one is forcing you to answer any questions you deem to be somehow beneath you, you know.

Stupid idea, not going to work. If there is a "problem" with r/seduction it's that there are too many newbies. Adding another sub that is unknown will not help the quality of r/seduction.

People here can't even agree on the definition of HB8 or a neg, do you think we'll be able to keep people going to the right sub? ZERO percent chance.

It's not like the volume of posts in r/seduction is too high to go through anyway. If you don't like answering people's stupid questions in r/seduction, you just skip over their posts. It's pretty easy to tell the wheat from the chaff by the subject line.
