This is great advice for those who are normally quiet in social settings. Of course you don't want to get carried away like others stated but that shouldn't come easy to anyone having difficulty speaking up in normal conversation.

This, by itself, means nothing. I don't mean this in a bad way. We're talking about a dynamic between two people: you and her. For opening / breaking sets, etc., being able to talk a little is great. Confidence and being unflappable is better... especially when dealing with bitch shields and AMOG / Destroyers. Their techniques are almost always to isolate you from the conversations: "Who are you, again?" "This guy is full of shit, right buddy?" etc. That's where being able to talk can bring you back into the fold, but you have to keep your cool but maintain an edge.

So yes, talking is important, having something interesting to say is important, bringing others into the conversation is important, being confident and unflappable is important. Being alpha and projecting alphaness onto the other guys in the group is important.

The last sentence deserves an example that happened to me recently. I was at a meeting with senior level colleagues, they are all much higher ranked than myself, but I frequently try to join in these meetings so I'm seen as one of them (even if a junior one of them) -- one of the guys is discussing a complicated project that he's struggling with, turns to me and says "I'm guessing Nom here knows how to solve it." I managed to describe a procedure, off the top of my head, that actually addressed the problem and potentially saves a lot of money for the company. Even though he was the alpha guy, he allows the other junior guys in the room to bask in that glory as well.

it's important not to be a dick to other guys, but bring them into your fold and make them feel like friends, rather than competitors. You enhance your social standing, you demonstrate higher values, and you promote yourself to a wider circle of women.

Funny, I just started to stop talking and just giving the ladies the room to do that. After a while of listening it´s that much easier to just lock eyes and seal the deal.

Whens someone talks all the time I assume they are uncomfortable, and they get annoying really quickly. A better idea is to get over yourself and try to make light and humor out of every day situations that everyone can relate to.

"So, this one time I bought this girl a beer at a bar; you know, and I thought she was cute, and we were really getting along. But, suddenly, she takes this beer I just bought her, and gives it to her boyfriend! Now, she was just trying to be nice, and any sane person would be absolutely shocked by this, but I thought it was funny. You see, I thought it was funny because of all the roofies I put in the beer."

She laughs, thinking you're hilarious

This is a great way to practice talking out loud. I would agree with most people here that once you have talking down, start working on listening.

Judging by some of the threads on weekends, some sedditors don't have any problem talking about any damn thing that comes to mind.

I heard a psychologist say that a neurotic person has distressing thoughts, and this is normal, everyone has distressing thoughts. But the psychotic person is unable to prevent himself from expressing them.

In other words, STFU. Not every thought in that comes into your head has to be expressed.
