I had trust issues from being played by men. The way I set them aside was just to realize that I didn’t want a relationship with someone I couldn’t trust.

As much as it sucks you just have to continue to be genuine and not let it change who you are as a person - and let the a-holes in your life come and go.

Don’t put up with people treating you like crap hoping they might change. If people put you down and make you feel bad they get the boot. Move on.

And just know that the worst people tend to date the most - so don’t get sexist about it. What you’re seeing doesn’t represent most of the population…the good girls have good, stable, long-term relationships and don’t cheat. You’re just seeing all the bad apples.

But you should also not be the guy women cheat with. That means you’re lowering yourself to their level. Don’t trade in your morality for sex. It becomes habitual and then you end up being a trash human by the end of it.

Find a girl who is an open book, who trusts you and tells you everything. Make sure she shares her feelings with you. If you get the “I’m fine” and she’s not okay, she doesn’t trust you with her emotions. Try to be someone safe to open up to. Most cheating happens when partners can’t confide in each other, so they start confiding somewhere else, and feeling loved and accepted seems to snowball. That’s when it catches relatively decent people off guard. Crappy people cheat for crappy reasons.

Also, having firm morals attracts people with firm morals. Being genuine attracts genuine people. Mirror what you want in your lover and you increase your chances of finding a good person.
